Itinerary

Begin your 7-day arctic tour in Winnipeg, the lively capital of Canada’s province of Manitoba. In recent years this vibrant city has become a center for culture, with plentiful space dedicated to festivals, concerts, architecture and a thriving local art scene. Upon arrival you will be given ample time to explore the many diverse sites of Canada’s “Prairie Capital.”

Start your day boarding a a chartered flight to the quaint town of Churchill, Manitoba. Once there, you’ll quickly come to understand why Churchill is known all over the planet as the “Polar Bear Capital of the World”. Each year this frontier town hosts hundreds of polar bears who gather to hunt seals, becoming one of the few human settlements on Earth that can give you an opportunity to see a polar bear face to face. Spend the day exploring the city’s cultural offerings before falling asleep under skies famous worldwide for providing the very best views of the aurora borealis.

Spend the next two days aboard unique tundra rovers – massive heated vehicles that feature reclining seats and comfortable restrooms onboard. The rovers’ easily opened windows allow plenty of opportunities for catching unobstructed views of polar bears and other arctic wildlife while traveling in pure comfort.

For two full days you will have unrivaled access to polar bears and the Northland’s other diverse wildlife while immersed in one of our planet’s last untamed wilderness areas. In the evenings, enjoy informative lectures and presentations on Arctic wildlife and the indigenous culture of the area.

On Day 5, use your free time to explore the historic frontier town of Churchill. Take a whale watching cruise, go on a bird watching tour, rent kayaks or just spend the day exploring this picturesque town on your own.

Spend your evening back aboard the tundra rover, where you will enjoy more polar bear viewing opportunities. If the skies are clear, you may get to encounter one of nature’s most thrilling experiences—a chance to view the northern lights! Though we can never promise a view of this spectacular phenomenon, we assure you we will monitor the skies and provide an opportunity for viewing if the lights decide to make an appearance.

Before flying back to Winnipeg in the afternoon, meet a local musher and his team for a dog-sledding adventure through the forests of Manitoba. Breathe in crisp Arctic air and crunch through fresh snow while taking part in an exciting and authentic experience that reflects the history and culture of the North.

If time permits, spend a few moments back in town shopping for last-minute souvenirs and locally made handicrafts to take home to your friends and family. Later that day, board a plane back to Winnipeg, for the final night of your adventure.

After breakfast and snapping your last few photos to capture this beautiful landscape, head to the airport for your return flights home.
