There are several ways you can stay in contact with home while you are traveling abroad.
Here are a few ways to stay connected:
- Get an international plan through your cell provider. It is very likely that your current carrier can provide you with international service while you are traveling abroad. The service may even be free.
- Download Whatsapp. This application allows you to text and all over an Internet connection.
- Use social media: Facebook and Instagram messenger are great ways to stay in touch.
- iMessage: If you have an iPhone, iMessage works on a Wi-Fi connection if you are contacting others who have iPhones.
While off the beaten path, you may encounter days with little to no cell service. Please ensure your family and friends that no news is good news.
