Itinerary

Upon arrival, we’ll depart for a tour at the oldest wine estate in South Africa, Groot Constantia. Walking along the picturesque rows of grapes, you wouldn’t realize that you’re still in the heart of the city. Enjoy the world famous selection in the tasting rooms, and maybe bring a bottle or two home to share. Stop for lunch at one of the nearby cafes or pack a picnic to enjoy as you explore.

If you’re feeling up for it, wake up before the sun and take the short hike up to Lions Head for sunrise. This hike offers views on par to Mountain Table, without taking up your whole day. Enjoy a post-hike lunch at Willoughby’s Fish Market. Go for the sushi or find a nearby cafe offering a variety of South African cuisine.

From here we’ll head towards what has been called one of the most beautiful gardens in Africa, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Alongside the flora, you’ll see a variety of art installations as you explore the garden trails. Learn about this garden’s history throughout the centuries and the progression towards today’s focus on sustainability and biodiversity.

We’ll spend the rest of the afternoon on a walking tour of the historic city. Hear stories of how this iconic city evolved over the centuries. Stop along the way to browse handicrafts at the Greenmarket Suare, cool off in the shade of yet another beautiful garden, and pass by the bustling Parliament.

Day 3: Penguins at Boulders Beach Park | Departure Home
This morning we’ll venture south down the peninsula to Boulders Beach Park. This beach is home to thousands of African penguins, waddling around the beach and splashing in the surf. The warm waters of False Bay make a perfect place for a swim!

After a final South African lunch we’ll head back to the airport for your international flight home.
