Itinerary

Your overseas adventure has begun as you travel to Dhaka. As you descend, take a look out of your window to see Bangladesh’s lush forests, flowing waterfalls, and plentiful mountains. A local guide will be waiting to transfer you to your city hotel.

The afternoon is yours to explore your environment. Stroll the city streets, take a dip in the hotel infinity pool, or take some time for rest and relaxation. In the evening, you’ll meet with your group and guide for authentic Indonesian cuisine, which is a great opportunity to get to know your guides and ask questions about your upcoming schedule.

Today you will make your way to a small school in the outskirts of Dhaka where you will be conducting your classes. This morning, you will have a couple of hours of orientation and training, as well as meet the students you will be teaching. We realize that everybody has a different passion, so you’ll get the opportunity to choose your favorite subject. Enjoy an afternoon lunch before touring Old Dhaka’s spectacular mix of culture and history. Stop by the Parliament House, Star Mosque, and Lalage Fort. Next, explore the markets before finishing the day with a boat ride with breath-taking views of the city.

Today is your first day of classes! Be sure to review your syllabus on your ride to the school. Head teachers will be alongside you as you teach if you are ever in need of assistance. You’ll do great! After a busy morning, find tranquility at the Island of Silence, Nijhum Dwip. Enjoy a picnic lunch in splendid natural beauty while keeping a lookout for deer. Take time to independently explore before leaving for your hotel feeling rejuvenated and clear-minded.

Another day of teaching! We bet you’re getting the hang of this. The children of Dhaka will be extremely grateful for your help in learning academically and sharing your native language with them. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before taking the waters for a country boat tour. Here, you will witness the rural Bangladesh life. As you cruise along the Meghna River, stop to visit farmland where locals will show you how to harvest crops and plant seeds. A guide will educate you on the history and culture of rural Bangladesh.

Today is a very special day of teaching as you will no longer focus on academic material, but rather learning real-life skills. This information you provide will be extremely valuable for your students in their coming years. In the afternoon, you are off to the world’s longest natural sea beach, the Cox’s Bazar Beach. Enjoy splashing in the waters and suntanning on the shoreside. Next, you’ll visit the nearby village of Ramu, which is best known for its Buddhist temples and monasteries. Take some time to explore and do some souvenir shopping before heading back to your hotel.

It’s your final day of teaching! Take pride in the fact that you have significantly increased your students’ likelihood of educational and career success. That is an enormous accomplishment. As a thank you, the locals will prepare a delicious lunch and dance. Say goodbye before making your way to Sundarbans, the only mangrove habitat in the world for Bengal Tigers. Spot these beautiful cats with the help of a guide and be sure to take lots of photos. If you’re lucky, you’ll also spot the king cobra, lizards and shikra birds. What a way to end your final evening in Bangladesh!

It has been both an adventurous and educational week. We hope you had lots of fun, but it’s now time to leave. Enjoy a final breakfast with your group and guides. Talk about your favorite memories and what you have learned. Next, head to the airport for your departure flight home.

The green jewel of Bangladesh is known for its braided rivers, intricate waterways, and rich culture. On this trip to explore this rich and ancient land, you will volunteer to teach underprivileged children while visiting the country’s top attractions. The trip’s highlights include spotting the Bengal tiger, soaking up the tranquility of Nijhum Dwip Island, and exploring the Old Town of Dhaka. Plan your overseas adventure to Bangladesh today!
