Itinerary

Your world travel visiting the great engineering wonders of the ancient Romans begins here. After your arrival in Rome, your group will tour around the city, visiting sites like the Arch of Constantine, the Roman Colosseum, and the Virgin Aqueducts. After, your group can roam the city and experiencing the food, shops, people and the Italian way of life.

Your second day in the city will begin bright and early, with a visit to Palatine Hill and all the places located within. After, you will be touring the Roman Forum, the Temple of Julius Caesar, as well as the Temple of Saturn. Finally, your tour of these amazing ancient sites will conclude with a visit to the Baths of Caracalla, built between 212 and 216 A.D. during the reign of emperor Caracalla.

Your final day in Rome will begin with a delicious breakfast. The first site your group will visit is the Domus Aurea, a home built by the infamous emperor Nero. Your next stop is the Baths of Diocletian, followed by the Pantheon. Finally, your group will visit the Circus Maximus. After, you can tour the city and enjoy your final night in Rome before packing up for the next destination.

Up bright and early, your group will head to the city of Naples. After checking into your accommodations, you will head into the city for a tour of Naples ancient sites. The first stop will be at the Greek-Roman Theatre, followed by a visit to the San Gennaro Catacombs. After, your group will visit the Celanpoli, to tour some of the underground wonders of a bygone era. You will be free to tour the city and enjoy all the food, shopping, and sights that Naples has to offer.

Your second day exploring the sites of ancient engineering feats of Naples continues with a tour of the Neapolis Sotterrata, another area of the city that is also underground. After, your group will head to the Pausilypon Archeological Park, where you will be able to tour the site. Built by the Roman cavalry soldier Publio Vedio Pollio. It was bequeathed to the emperor Augustus after Pollio’s death in 15 A.D., thus becoming an official imperial estate boasting a fantastic view of the Bay of Naples. Access to the villa is via the monumental Seiano’s cave, a tunnel 770 meters long carved in the hillside.

The final full day of your tour, your group will head into the ancient town of Pompeii, famously destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Dirt and ashes spewed out by the volcano covered the city, leaving it intact until its discovery in 1748. Starting in 2018, archaeologists made even more discoveries, thanks to the recommencement of excavations. Tour the city and walk in the same streets that ancient Romans walked almost 2,000 years ago. After a full day of touring the site, your group will return to Naples for a wonderful dinner and one last night to enjoy the nightlife of the city.

The day of your departure begins early so that your group has one final opportunity to tour the city, enjoy one final gelato or do some last-minute shopping, before leaving for the airport to make the trip back home.
