Itinerary

Your guide for the week will meet you at the airport and drive you to your Rome hotel. You will have time today to explore the city and enjoy a quiet dinner. Your guide will recommend a few authentic pizza restaurants where you can order a classic Roman pizza with a thin, crisp crust topped with cheese, basil and tomato sauce. If you are feeling adventurous, you can try a salsiccia e fiori di zucca (sausage and zucchini blossoms pizza).

Meet your guide for breakfast along with the members of your small group tour. There you will review your upcoming itinerary, and your guide will confirm your reservations for your journey – all you have to do is enjoy the ride!

Ostia Antica is only a short drive from Rome. In ancient times it was a busy seaport on the Tiber River. Spend the morning exploring the ancient ruins.

Luxuriate in your guide-driven van and enjoy the beautiful scenery go by instead of having to watch the road! After a quick 2.5 hour ride (where you will make several picturesque stops), your Naples seaside hotel is awaiting your arrival. While your guide tends to your bags, you can explore the city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Dinner is a world-famous Neapolitan pizza – the colors of the Italian flag – red, green and white! Perhaps you may consider something a little different, how about a deep-fried ricotta pizza? Molto Bene!

This morning you can walk the ruins of Pompeii. After, hike up Mount Vesuvius for a picnic and an unparalleled view of Naples.

Your driver will meet you after your hike to take you the short one-hour drive to Sorrento. The drive will not disappoint as you will be delighted with the stunning views of the Bay of Naples and the Sorrentine Peninsula.

Dine tonight at a first-class restaurant along the cliffs overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is easy to see why everyone loves the Amalfi Coast! Tiamo Italia!

Relax on your hotel’s terrazzo deck by the pool with a glorious picture-postcard view. Be sure to snap plenty of photos. This scenery is Instagram ready!

This evening, learn the tricks of how to make a traditional Italian pizza. Your pizza chef will help you make your own classic pizza dough and demonstrate how to toss the dough to stretch it out. Add your favorite toppings, bake and share with your classmates. Perhaps a glass of local vino to go with? Definitely cannolis for dessert!

Fall asleep to the gentle Mediterranean breeze while listening to the sound of the waves on the rocks.

After breakfast, it’s just a short drive to the picture perfect Positano. Surprisingly, the views on this journey are more beautiful every day. This quiet village has lovely little shops to wander through, a beautiful pebble beach, and luxurious villas.

Salerno is your next stop, just an hour down the coast. While your guide gets you checked in to your hotel, stroll the Lungomare Trieste (the seafront promenade). Visit the Castello di Arechi, the castle overlooking the city that offers sweeping views of the Gulf of Salerno.

Salerno is known for its amazing pizza, so you can take your pick from any number of pizzerias. Choose one to take away and head to the beach with a bottle of local wine and watch the lights twinkle off the water while you dine.

Tivoli is worth the 2.5-hour drive north. It sits on the Aniene River, where you will feel as if you have gone back in time. Tour Villa d’Este and Villa Adrian, UNESCO World Heritage sites, where the luxury will astound you.

The ancient Romans spent their summer holidays in Tivoli, a retreat from the city’s heat. Hadrian’s Villa has breathtaking gardens and over 1,000 fountains to enjoy.

Enjoy a quiet dinner – add to your pizza repertoire or sample another Italian delicacy.

The short drive to Rome this morning will have you back in time for your flight home.

Your guide for this week will take care of all your travel needs. Your small group tour will be well cared for as your adventures in travel take you along the Italian highways and country roads in search of the best pizza Italy has to offer.
