Itinerary

Kayseri Airport will give you a chance to see where architecture and nature meet as you arrive in Turkey. Brace for an hour shuttle ride into Cappadocia where you’ll be able to take in the beauty of the arid landscape, and you might be able to peek at snowy hills if your timing is right.

Once you’ve reached your hotel in Cappadocia, take part in a Turkish night in one of the cave restaurants where you’ll see dance performances and grab a tasty treat or two.

Pasabag is known for its fairy chimneys within this breathtaking valley. Just 20 minutes outside the center of Cappadocia, you’ll discover the town of Urgup which houses this valley. Take a walk up one of these chimneys to explore St. Simeon’s Chapel which was built when the monks took over the valley. Maybe you’ll find a fairy or two while you’re up there!

Stop for dinner at a local café with a fun atmosphere and talk about the adventures and plans for the next few days.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to discover an underground city, Cappadocia has 36 for you to explore! The largest underground city is housed in the Anatolia region only 30 minutes away from the Cappadocian center. Become an underground citizen and experience what it was like for those who built the cities as a way of escaping cold winters, dangerous creatures, and persecution. You’ll “ooh and ah” at the wineries and churches they were able to fit down there!

Listen to tales on the city’s foundation and how it became a haven for many.

Explore Cappadocia’s valleys with a horseback tour! Stay in the center of Cappadocia for the day and take a moment to explore all the beauty surrounding you. Tours last between 2 and 4 hours and allow you to see some of the gorgeous valleys Cappadocia has to offer. Any animal lover should make a stop here since Cappadocia has been dubbed the “Land of Beautiful Horses.”

Not only will this trip help stem rising pollution, but also you’ll get to appreciate the landscape in a more natural way!

Devrent Valley is different from all the valleys you’ve seen so far due to its moon-like topography. Only 10 minutes out of Gorem, The rock formations will create artwork right before your eyes – but make no mistake, these were all nature’s talent at work.

Make a game out of it with your group and see how many different shapes you can make out of the formations!

One of the most magical adventures you’ll experience while in Turkey is a hot air balloon ride. You’ve undoubtedly seen the iconic Instagram pics of rosy sunsets overlooking the mountains. You’ll be able to see caves and valleys from above in this unique experience. Make your last day the most memorable as you glide over the landscape you’ve explored in previous days.

After a quick morning meal, head out to your local wineries or pottery shops to score some unique mementos and gifts to bring back from your trip. Just 13 minutes away, in the town of Avanos, you’ll reach the country’s craft center. Take a stroll by the shores of the Red River and discover complex pieces and tasty wines all around you – just make sure to pack them safely before your shuttle and flight back!

Board your shuttle bus back to Kayseri and consider writing a quick journal entry about your trip on your flight back.
