Fishing in Florida

Your educational student tour has begun as you travel to Orlando. As your plane descends, take a look out of your window to see Florida’s wetlands and cities. A local guide will be waiting to transfer you to your resort. 

The afternoon is yours to explore your environment. Stroll along the beach, or take a dip in the hotel infinity pool, or venture into the city. In the evening, you’ll meet with your group and guide for dinner, providing you with a great opportunity to get to know your guides and ask questions about your upcoming adventures.

Wake up before the sun rises for an unforgettable first day in Florida! Make your way to the launch site of the welcome center to watch your crew prepare and inflate a hot-air balloon. Feel free to lend a helping hand or ask questions about this process. Next, make your way to the gondola for liftoff. As you soar high into the air, absorb the breathtaking scenery of Florida – from its swamps to countryside to orange grove to theme parks. Enjoy mimosa or glass of champagne as you do so. After a 4-hour flight, safely land for a hearty brunch at the Welcome Center.

It’s time to learn about the marine life and fish of Florida. Make your way to Crystal River to experience the world’s largest population of West Indian manatees. Grab your snorkel gear and dive into the water for an intimate encounter with these endangered mammals in their natural habitat. Enjoy a picnic-style lunch on shore before boarding an airboat to tour the Withlacoochee River. Keep an eye out for dolphins, manatees, and other marine life as you soar. Finally, you will stop at calm waters for an hour of fishing. Professional fishermen will demonstrate how to property cast nets and rods. Did you manage to make a catch?

We couldn’t bring you to Orlando without bringing you to its famous Universal Studios. This TV-based theme park is one of the state’s top-rated attractions. You have the entire day to explore the park! Are you a die-hard Harry Potter fan? Make sure to drop by Diagon Alley. If you prefer the Jurassic Park Movies, be sure to ride on its river adventure. What about being a Dr. Seuss lover? If so, make your way to Seuss Land. Today is all about you! In the evening, regroup for a spectacular fireworks and water show.

Wake up motivated and excited for another day of fishing! Start the day at Clearwater Beach to relax on the beach with a book, snorkel the waters, or try your hand at paddleboarding. Next, make your way to Pier 60 to watch pelicans await the fishermans’ daily catch before enjoying lunch at a harbor restaurant. Finally, it’s time to embark on your fishing boat to head off for a deep-sea fishing expedition. Your guides will take you to the most abundant reefs in the area. Catch a variety of fish, including sea bass, tarpon, grouper, and more! Release them back into the water or take them home to grill – the choice is yours!

Make your way to Rock Springs for your final full day in Florida. Learn some basic paddle information before jumping into your kayak for a 4-hour adventure. The bottom of your kayak is clear for you to view the abundant marine life below. Take plenty of pictures as you make your way down the river. There will also be numerous chances to stop and enjoy the cool springwater. Halfway through the trip, stop for a picnic lunch and rope-swing ride into deep waters.

It has been both an adventurous and educational week in Florida. We hope you had lots of fun, but it’s now time to leave. Enjoy a final breakfast with your group and guides. Talk about your favorite memories and what you have learned. Next, head to the airport for your departure flight home.
