Itinerary

Welcome to Dubai ─ famous for its cosmopolitan glamour, lavish shopping at the world’s largest mall, extraordinary entertainment, astounding innovations, extravagant skyscrapers, and the world’s tallest building! But Dubai is much more than that. It’s a city that likes to overcome challenges. This innovative country that created an oasis in the desert is also making incredible strides in promoting ecotourism and preserving the natural world and its biodiversity.

You’ll meet your local guide at the airport and transfer to your eco-friendly hotel where you can settle in and relax and begin to explore the local area on your own. If there’s time, perhaps check out the Dubai Ferry for a leisurely round-trip cruise along the coast.

Get to know your guide over a delicious dinner inspired by Asian and Middle Eastern flavors and plan for your adventures for the week!

Start your day with an early morning camel trek through the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. You’ll learn about the dromedary camel and their care and watch for wildlife! Enjoy breakfast as you relax on the shores of a lovely lake. Be sure to get some fun photos!

Afterward, learn about the history and culture of Dubai on a unique tour that takes you into the older, traditional side of Dubai. Then see Dubai on an environmentally friendly, electric powered boat tour! As long as you’re here, you might want to travel to the observation deck of the world’s tallest building where you can see both current views and those from the past for some historical perspective. Just a little city introduction before returning to the desert tomorrow!

Explore the spectacular dunes and majestic desert landscape of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve as you learn more about the desert environment and get a chance to see native wildlife such as Arabian oryx and gazelle.

You’ll get a behind the scenes look at the reserve and discover their conservation efforts and possibly assist in gathering data for them. And of course, capture lots of incredible photos! As Dubai has introduced responsible tourism practices, you’re more easily able to experience the wildlife and desert flora of the region without harming it!

Take a journey through the enclosed ecosystem of The Green Planet and interact with nature and exotic animals in a magical, indoor tropical rainforest. You’ll find a magnificent tree that provides a home for over 3,000 plants and animals! Through three levels, you will experience unique animals as you follow the spiral from the forest floor up to the remarkable bio-dome.

Tonight, you’ll explore the beauty of sunset in the desert as you immerse yourself in this scenic land and get a taste of Arabia as you ride a camel into camp. You’ll overnight in a comfortable desert campsite where you’ll indulge in a delicious dinner, enjoy a cozy bonfire with the company of friends, and learn about the life of the nomadic desert people, the Bedouins, and the valuable role of camels and falcons to them. Then, fall asleep to the sounds of the desert through a peaceful night under the Arabian night sky.

Awaken and enjoy a desert sunrise and relaxing breakfast before heading back to your hotel. Then do what the locals do and get ready for a water adventure to cool off a little from the desert heat. Speaking of cooling off in all this heat, indulge yourself today on a visit to the Dubai Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark and Lost Chambers Aquarium. Have fun racing down the world’s largest waterslide and rolling along water roller coasters propelling you through currents and tunnels of water.

Then wander through one of the largest aquariums in the world where you are entirely surrounded by unique fish, tiger sharks, and stingrays. There are many ways to experience the underwater world here from assisting with feeding marine life on a glass bottom boat tour to cage snorkeling to swimming with the sharks. Enjoy this fascinating immersion learning about marine animals and take home some great photos on your cooling-off day before returning to the desert tomorrow!

Leave early today for a desert retreat where you’ll see an incredible falconry demonstration of the ancient and modern training techniques used with birds of prey. Watch in amazement at their extraordinary abilities as you learn about the ancient art of falconry! Then enjoy a gourmet breakfast and wildlife drive through the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve to catch sight of native animals. Your guide will continue to share more about the cultural heritage of the region and the conservation journey taking place in Dubai.

Your last night in Dubai is here and time for a celebration as you reflect on your experiences this week at a unique sunset dinner safari. Be sure to capture stunning sunset photos from the top of the dunes at the Desert Conservation Reserve. You’ll travel to a Bedouin-type camp with big comfortable cushions and Persian carpets and a cozy bonfire. Your camel awaits for one last trek through the desert before a delicious dinner is served. A beautiful ending to your Dubai adventures.

Time to say goodbye with happy thoughts of camel trekking through the protected desert landscapes knowing that Dubai will continue to make progress in protecting its natural resources and creating sustainable tourism.

Ecotourism and nature conservation may not be your first thought when you think of Dubai and the UAE, but the government’s commitment to sustainable tourism and preserving the environment is growing. Experience the other part of Dubai that lies alongside their incredible and extravagant achievements. Join us to discover their conservation efforts through experiencing the UAE’s first national park as you go camel trekking in the desert, take a wildlife safari, explore the ancient art of falconry, and sleep in the desert under an Arabian sky.
