Itinerary

Upon arrival in Sinaia, Romania, check in and meet for a group lunch overlooking the spectacular landscape of the Bucegi Mountains. In the afternoon, explore the 17th century Sinaia Monastery — once home to a royal family.

This quaint mountain town is surrounded by ski trails. Depending on the season, discover the landscape by hiking or skiing.

Meet for a group dinner at a local restaurant for a true Romanian feast before heading back to the hotel for the night.

Rise in the morning to breakfast with the group, then board a private shuttle for an hour drive to Brașov, where you’ll be the next two days. Brașov is a city in the Transylvania region of Romania in the center of the Carpathian Mountains. Spend your first day here touring the incredible Gothic-style Black Church to learn about it’s fascinating history, and the role it has played in Romania’s Eastern Orthodox religion.

Gather in the evening for a group dinner at one of Brașov’s lively cafes before turning in for the night.

Enjoy a delightful breakfast in the morning with your group before spending the day touring Piaţa Sfatului (Council Square) — a beautiful cobble-stoned town surrounded by colorful baroque buildings. Discover many hidden gems in this town, including Casa Sfatului, a former town hall turned local history museum.

In the afternoon, board a train to head to Sighișoara a 2.5 hour ride away.

Rise and shine in the city of Sighișoara located on the Târnava Mare River. Enjoy breakfast on the terrace overlooking the historic region of Transylvania.

Spend the day exploring the city and its famous, well-preserved walled old town listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Enjoy breakfast in the morning with your group before boarding a train for Sibiu, a 2 hour train ride from Sighișoara. Sibiu is located in Transylvania and is known for its Germanic architecture, the legacy of 12th century Saxon settlers. Spend the day exploring the remains of medieval walls and towers throughout the city, including the 13th century Council Tower. Head uptown to tour the Brukenthal Palace, now Brukenthal National Museum, which houses beautiful European paintings. Interview you local expert on the history of religion in this area, and the role it’s played in religious practice throughout the whole country.

Rise early in the morning to board a plane to Bucharest, Romania’s lively capital city. Explore Bucharest’s Old Town, an open-air museum of excavated medieval ruins and the National Museum of Romanian History.

Here, the museum features showings of religious icons and royal treasures. Discover the history of Eastern Orthodox in this spectacular city.

Gather for dinner at one of the city’s restaurants housed in a 19th century building and enjoy a traditional Romanian dish.

Indulge in a final group breakfast before beginning your departure home. Depending on your flight, spend some free time exploring the city of Bucharest and surrounding areas.
