Itinerary

Start your royal tour of Grace Kelly’s Monaco by visiting La Condamine Market. This indoor/outdoor market dating to 1880 features florists, local produce sellers and other vendors. Rumor has it that Princess Grace enjoyed visiting the sunny location.

On day two, you’ll visit the royal home of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III. The palace was built in 1191 as a Genoese fortress and features Carrara marble, gilded paintings and lavish brocade. The daily Changing of the Guard ceremony is a popular attraction.

You’ll also visit Saint Nicholas Cathedral where Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III were married in 1956. This beautiful limestone building features Roman-Byzantine architecture. Along with other royalty, Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III are laid to rest at Saint Nicholas Cathedral.

Today, you’ll explore the winding streets of the Rock of Monaco. You’ll enjoy great views of the Mediterranean Sea from this vantage point, and while you’re there, you can visit the Princess Grace Irish Library, which is located near the palace.

Fontvieille Park features a wide variety of Mediterranean plants, cypress trees and art installations. There’s a pond with ducks, geese and fish. The Princess Grace Rose Garden is a complete entity within Fontvieille Park, which Prince Rainier III developed in 1984 as a tribute to Grace Kelly. It features an English garden layout mixed with the Mediterranean feel of olive trees. There’s a bronze sculpture of the princess, a fountain, and more than 300 varieties of roses.

Princess Grace was a huge patron of the arts and frequently attended the ballet and opera at the Monte Carlo Casino. You’ll spend time exploring the iconic and glamorous casino, its art installations and stunning architecture. The Salle des Etoiles stage has hosted names like Enrique Iglesias, John Legend, the Beach Boys and the Monte Carlo Jazz Festival.

Today you’ll travel to Cannes and visit the Promenade de la Croisette. Enjoy views of the beautiful beaches and sapphire waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III met at the Cannes Film Festival in 1954. While you’re in Cannes, you’ll also visit the Musee de la Castre Cannes, a Medieval tower housing 19th-century art, musical instruments and other artifacts.

Later in the evening, you’ll take in a performance at the Princess Grace Theater, which is the former Theatre des Beaux-Arts. In 1981, Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace restored and revamped the Beaux-Arts, including its interior design and the acoustics. Performers include big names and emerging talent.

On your final day in Monaco, you’ll stroll along the winding streets and scenic views of the French Riviera. Enjoy breakfast at a local cafe or stop by La Boutique du Rocher to purchase locally made handicrafts. Sales from the boutique benefit the Princess Grace Foundation.
