Itinerary

Your guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel where you’ll spend the next three nights. Settle into your new home before joining your guide for a traditional Nepalese meal. Prepare yourself for an amazing week in Nepal!

You’ll spend your first full day in Kathmandu exploring the city and seeing the sights. Your tour will start at Swayambhunath, one of the most famous religious sites in Nepal. The stupa is a sacred place for Buddhists, and the many shrines and temples are covered with beautiful iconography from both Buddhism and Hinduism. There are also plenty of monkeys around the shrines, so keep an eye on any food you don’t want to lose!

After Swayambhunath, you and your group will head to Pashupatinath, the most important Hindu temple in Nepal. Finally, your tour ends in Durbar Square for people watching and a traditional meal before heading back to your hotel.

Your guide will meet you in the morning and take you to a nearby school for a day of teaching and learning. Get to know the locals, help the kids with their English, and play a few games with them throughout the day.

Wake up early and head 5 hours northwest to your next destination: Pokhara. Spend the evening exploring the city and visit the Shanti Stupa, also known as the Peace Pagoda. Join your guide for an evening meal and prepare for another day of teaching.

Today you’ll devote some time to volunteering at a local Pokhara school. Spend the day with teachers and students and learn how the Pokhara culture differs from that of Kathmandu. Share with them what you’ve learned about their country so far and teach them about your own.

The journey back to Kathmandu is long, but you’ll make three stops in villages along the way to break up the trip and to see some beautiful scenery. Stop in Shuklagandaki, Bandipur, and Baireni to sample the local food, learn about the villages, and see the surrounding countryside. Back in Kathmandu, you’ll enjoy an evening meal and spend another night in the capital city.

Take one last walk through the bustling streets of Kathmandu and reflect on your journey as you prepare for your flight home. Leave Nepal with an appreciation of its culture, a better understanding of its people and, undoubtedly, a strong desire to return.

With its breathtaking mountains, ancient temples, and rich cultural heritage, Nepal is a one-of-a-kind tourist destination. Travel abroad while helping the local community with a trip that centers around volunteer teaching. You’ll return home with a deep appreciation of Nepal’s culture and a unique experience that few travelers enjoy.
