After lunch, you will travel to see Tetovo’s painted mosque. Its elaborate architecture and spectacular designs date back to the Renaissance era in the Islamic world. Be sure to ask the guide about how the past has influenced the current North Macedonian culture today. Spend the rest of the evening exploring Tetovo’s shops before heading back to the hotel for dinner.

Today you’re off to experience the main tourist attractions in North Macedonia, which is the town of Ohrid. Its location is along the shores of Europe’s oldest lake. Be sure to take out your camera because wherever you turn, there will be breathtaking views. You will see the Ancient Theatre of Ohrid, Tsar Samuel’s Fortress, and St. Clement of Ohrid. Finally, after lunch at a local restaurant, you will visit the Bay of Bones Museum to better understand how prehistoric people lived on the water while protecting themselves from mainland dangers.

It’s time to take a break from history and experience the nature of North Macedonia which lies in its eastern region. You’ll first be transferred to two monasteries for a short tour at St. Leontius and Veljusa Monastery. Try to take a moment to appreciate how the Macedonian beliefs compare to your own. Next, you will explore a masterpiece of nature, the Kolesino Waterfall. You’ll have the chance to hike around the falls, swim in the natural pool, and cliff jump, if you dare! Enjoy a picnic lunch before heading down toward Kolesino village for souvenirs shopping and free time.

Meet a local host of Kuratica’s small village who will share with you their customs and culture. Visit an authentic village house, learn traditional cloth making, and search for forest fruits. You’ll be sure to spot many sheep and cattle roaming freely in the village’s area. Enjoy a traditional Macedonian meal and furnace baked bread. Finally, you will have the opportunity to ride on a donkey through the village’s nearby rolling hills to witness the true beauty of North Macedonia.

Get out of the hustle and bustle of city life during your last full day in North Macedonia. You’ll first head to Berovo which is a town that lies below the Malesevski Mountains. A guide will lead your hike through the town and into the wilderness to reach Berovo Lake. Enjoy a picnic lunch of organic food and drinks. Canoe, swim, or paddleboard on the lake, then head back to the town of Berovo for some free time and dinner before heading back to your hotel for a good night’s rest.
