Itinerary

Arrive in Colombo and meet your local guides who will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. After getting settled into your accommodation and enjoying a cup of chai, go for a stroll along the Fort Area and discover the monumental historical buildings of Colombo. Wander one of the oldest streets in Colombo of Pettah Street and dive right into local culture and markets. Visit Colombo’s most ancient Hindu temple of Sri Kailawasanathan and marvel at the Indian inspired architecture and intricate details.

Rise early for breakfast and your onward journey to the heart of the mountains to the city considered to be the most beautiful in the world. Take in the scenic landscapes all around as you escape reality and entrench yourself in the lush mountains and tea plantations of this colonial mountain town. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and UNESCO World Heritage Site and learn the intriguing history of one of the holiest places in Sri Lanka. Take in the sunset overlooking the city at Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha statue where you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views over Kandy.

Enjoy breakfast and head to the enchanting town of Nuwara Eliya that has a reputation as “Little England” due to a history of the British settling there during the holidays. Delight your senses with a visit to the Pedro Tea Estate plantation and learn how tea is processed locally and how the company empowers local women and young children through their social initiatives. Catch a break at Lover’s Leap Waterfall and enjoy the fresh air and glistening falls as you learn the tragic love story behind Lover’s Leap.

Get ready for your ride on the famous and most scenic train ride in the world from Nuwara Eliya to Ella as you journey down the tea hills and Ceylon peaks. Upon arrival, get ready for an adventure as you walk along the rails of the world-famous Nine Arch Bridge and marvel at the enchanting architecture situated between lush tea fields as you wait for a train to pass by for the perfect photo-op.

Enjoy a savory breakfast before venturing out to climb Little Adam’s Peak where you will pass by a local village and tea plantations. Savor the views from the top as you take in the spectacular views over the valley down below and relish the fresh mountain air. Head over to the second highest waterfall in Sri Lanka, Diyaluma Falls, and catch a refreshing break as you swim in the unique natural pools.

Get ready for the ideal combination of beach and culture as you depart Ella and head to the coastal city of Galle. Explore the walls and fortifications of Galle as you marvel at the incredible views of the sea beside you. Visit the stilt fisherman as you learn their unique and traditional method of fishing on the southern shores of Galle. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing on the beach with coconuts (or beer) in hand.

Take one last stroll along the sea before departing to Colombo with your local guides where you will be transported back to the airport for your return flight home.
