Itinerary

Your adventure has begun as you global travel to Rome. As your plane descends, take a look out of your window to see Rome’s deep valleys, vineyards, and pristine shores. A local guide will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel.

The afternoon is yours to explore your environment. Walk around the city, swim on the beach, or get a message at the hotel spa. In the evening, you’ll meet with your guide for a traditional Mediterranean-style dinner, which is a great opportunity to get to know your guides and ask questions about your upcoming adventures.

Today, you’re off to the most popular tourist attraction in Italy! Make your way into the Colosseum to explore its many tiers and learn about the brutal events that once occurred in the arena. Imagine crowds of 50,000 people who cheered as the fates of gladiators were determined by emperors. These athletes were among the first to ever exist in Rome. Learn about how they physically and nutritionally prepared for their battles and how their regimen compares to Italian athletes today. Next, enjoy lunch at a health-food restaurant where you’ll converse with a sports nutritionist what foods athletes opt for in order to build muscle and stay lean. He or she will accompany and educate you for the remainder of the trip.

Now that you know more about Roman sports nutrition, it’s time to cook up some dishes. Start at the Piazza Farnese where you’ll visit the popular food market to collect ingredients of veggies, meats, and cheeses. Make sure to try the free samples from vendors. Next, arrive at a local restaurant in the Trastevere neighborhood to cook up some famous Roman dishes, such as pasta, pizza, mozzarella cheese, and artisan gelato. You’ll learn to make healthy alternatives to these dishes by using vegetables to replace carbohydrates. Next, it’s time to taste. As you enjoy lunch, learn about how different sports call for different kinds of diets. Enjoy free time in the evening before you take a short night flight to Croatia.

You’ll start the morning in Dubrovnik, Croatia by meal-prepping for the day with your sports nutritionist, an essential step for athletes on a busy schedule. Next, you’ll make your way to thundering Kravice Waterfalls to get some exercise. Marvel at its beauty and swim in its shallow pools before enjoying the view along with the picnic lunch you made earlier this morning. Next, you’re off to Mostar to explore its historic scenery, such as the Stari Most bridge, Mosque of Mostar, and Turkish House. Enjoy Turkish coffee before heading back into the city.

Jump on a cable car for a panoramic ride up to the summit of Mount Srd. From two terraces, enjoy jaw-dropping views of the city and coastline that lies below you. Enjoy lunch at the Summit Restaurant before making your way to Old Town. Admire the cobblestone streets and narrow passageways. Next, walk into Baroque Cathedral which was rebuilt after an earthquake in the 18th century. Following this, enjoy free time to explore more of the city. In the evening, you will regroup to watch the national team of Vaterpolski Jun plays a game of water polo. Enjoy a meet-and-greet after to learn more about their nutrition.

Get up before the sun rises to fly to Athens, Greece. After dropping off your bags, make your way to view the city’s top attractions, including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Temple of Zeus, Presidential Palace, and the Parthenon. After a Greek salad lunch, you will tour the Panathenaic Stadium, which was the venue of the first Olympic Games. Learn about the famous athletes who performed and their preparation diets. In the evening, enjoy watching the Panathinaikos football team play in Greece’s famous stadium.

Get up early to spend your last day in Athens on the sea. Relax of the deck, drink wine in the yacht’s dining room, or steer the boat with assistance from the captain. Enjoy the sun rise over the horizon as the sea comes alive. The boat will stop at a snorkel hotspot for you to dive into the deep blue sea. Keep a lookout for colorful exotic fish, turtles, and dolphins. Board the ship to the smells of roasted vegetables. Enjoy a lunch of flavorful appetizers and BBQ — what a way to end your final day in the Mediterranean.

The Mediterranean is known for its teetering oceanside villages, legendary cities, and turquoise seas. From its ancient ruins to sun-kissed beaches to lively people, it’s a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

On this trip to the Mediterranean, you will learn about sports nutrition while visiting the tourist hotspots of three different countries. The trip’s highlights include entering the Colosseum in Italy, bathing in Croatia’s Kravice Waterfalls, and cruising Greece’s magnificent coastline. Global travel to the Mediterranean today!
