You’ll spend your first full day in France in Lille, the northern French city where Charles de Gaulle was born. Join your group for a tour of the Charles de Gaulle Birthplace and Museum. Learn more about de Gaulle’s early life while getting to see the exact place he lived. After the tour, you and your group will take a walking tour of the surrounding neighborhood before enjoying a traditional meal at a local restaurant.

Wake up early and hop on the tour bus for a 2-hour trip to Paris. After a light lunch at a Parisian bistro, you and your group will get a guided tour of Historical Charles de Gaulle. This multimedia exhibition examines the life of Charles de Gaulle and aims to educate visitors on his role as a general.

You’ll spend today at the Musee l’Armee. Visit the World War II collection at the Museum of War and learn all about how Charles de Gaulle helped win the war for France and the French people. You’ll get to explore the fascinating exhibitions and spend some time in the museum’s powerful and somber Holocaust Memorial.

Join your group for a quick 20-minute drive to Champigny-sur-Marne, a quaint town in the suburbs of Paris. The town is home to the educational Museum of National Resistance. Tour the museum to get a better understanding of what WWII and German occupation was like for the French people. You will learn how important French resistance was to the war efforts as well as how difficult it was for the French.

Your final full day in France will be a day trip to Normandy to see the D-Day Beaches and the site of the Normandy landings. Walk along the beaches while learning all about how the Allies planned for the Invasion of Normandy. This trip is truly compelling, and one you will remember for a lifetime.

Enjoy one last visit to a Parisian café and pack up for your flight home. You’ll head home both educated and inspired, with more knowledge of the importance and power of resistance.
