Arrive in Egypt’s capital city of Cairo, where your local guides will be awaiting you at the airport to transport you to your hotel and get settled in. After getting settled, join your guides to explore this cultural and architectural hub of a city and wander the bustling streets of Cairo. Visit the oldest section of Cairo known as the Christian Coptic sector and explore the Babylon Fortress, the Hanging Church, and various museums, including the Coptic Museum.
Rise early for breakfast and get ready to hit the ground running as you depart to Giza, home of the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx for an unforgettable experience as you explore these ancient structures — some of them over 4,500 years old. Get your camera ready as you get a firsthand experience into history and learn about the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Take a step back in time at the Egyptian Museum and check out the Mummies Hall, where many of Egypt’s most prestigious deceased queens and pharaohs are housed.
Enjoy breakfast before continuing your journey onwards to the charming city of Aswan where you will be delighted with vast cultural options to explore in the city. Transport yourself to another time as you explore the Temple of Isis or Philae Temple as you get familiar with the goddess of wisdom, health, and marriage on the temple’s island of Agilkia. Visit the Nubian Museum and learn about the hydro dam and how the United Nations decided which sites to save in Egypt as you learn about the multiple sites and ruins now located underwater across Egypt.
Today’s excursion will lead you to Abu Simbel, a Nubian village bordering Sudan, and home to the famous Abu Simbel rock temples. Learn about these massive rock temples that were carved out of the mountainside in 13th century B.C. as a monument to Pharaoh Ramesses II and Queen Nefertiti and how the complex was relocated in 1968 to avoid being destroyed in the creation of Lake Nasser. Be sure to get your camera ready as you uncover these magnificently ancient historical sites!
A trip to Egypt is not complete without sailing across the Nile River! Enjoy an early breakfast and get ready for a memorable trip of a lifetime as you sail across the Nile River by felucca boat! Unwind and relax as you take in the scenic views and taste local delicacies on board. Spend the evening relaxing with an incredible view after your adventure-filled week up until this point!
Rise early for breakfast just before heading off to your next stop in the Egyptian city bursting with culture, Luxor. Immerse yourself in the open-air museum where you will experience the temple complex of Karnax and the famous Valley of the Kings that made Luxor famous. Experience this outdoor museum full of pillars and obelisks dedicated to the pharaohs. Explore the Valley of the Kings on your choice of camel, horse, or donkey as you uncover the various royal tombs from 1550 to 1069 A.D.
Transfer back to Cairo where you will be transported to the airport to catch your return journey home as you look back on your memorable week and the candids that you snapped along the way.
