Itinerary

Over the past 50 years, Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, has transitioned from a small port city to a cosmopolitan hub for businesses throughout the world. It’s also become a popular tourist destination, and it is where you will touch down in this part of the world today. You’ll notice the dynamic city skyline on your descent especially the Burj Khalifa, officially the world’s tallest building. Your guide will collect you from the airport today and deliver you to your hotel for the evening where you’ll dine on a traditional Middle Eastern feast.

Today the group will board a site-seeing bus for an overview of some of the city’s popular places. You’ll get closer to the Burj Khalifa today to snap a few photos of this incredible building. The group will take the elevator to the top for a bird’s eye view of the city from the observation deck. After your trip to the Burj Khalifa, the group will head to the old district in the Al Fahidi neighborhood. Here you’ll explore at your own pace taking in the buzzing energy of the market. The group will end the afternoon with a trip to the Dubai Mall where you’ll find all of the world’s most expensive brands in the biggest mall ever built. There is also an aquarium inside the mall, which is also one of the biggest in the world.

Your guide will lead you to the Dubai Marina this morning where you’ll spend the day. This is a vibrant part of the city and the center of everything happening here. You might consider renting a bike and exploring the marina area that way. The area is an architectural wonder and there is plenty to see and do. After spending most of the day exploring on your own, the group will reconvene for a sunset boat cruise for dinner.

The group will travel to the eastern edge of the city this morning for a visit to the Dubai Gold and Spice Souks. This traditional market is always buzzing with activity. You’ll spend your day meandering its narrow aisles filled with herbs, spices, incense, household items, rugs, teas, and other important trade items. After your morning in the souks, the group will head out to the very edge of the city to get up close and personal with a camel or two, the main mode of transportation in the desert for thousands of years.

It might be hard to believe that a destination in the middle of the desert would offer beautiful beaches, but Dubai has almost everything. Because of its location on the Persian Gulf, there are long stretches of white sand beaches offering residents and tourists alike plenty of recreational and sunbathing opportunities. The group will head to two beaches today, Jumeirah in the morning and Kite Beach in the afternoon. You’ll have the day to explore each beach on your own.

Today the group will board a bus to travel to the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi. The trip will take less than 2 hours. Once you arrive, your guide will lead you on a tour of the city. You’ll visit the Sheikh Zayed Mosque and Ferrari World in the morning. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Falcon Hospital to learn more about falconry, a popular pastime in this part of the world, and the Palace Museum. There are plenty of photo ops in Abu Dhabi, so be sure to keep your camera ready.

It’s been an adventuresome week in Dubai. There is so much to see and do here that visitors return again and again. After breakfast, your guide will lead you to one last photo opportunity before delivering you to the airport. The Dubai Frame is another famous landmark in the city and the perfect place for a few final pictures before you leave. This giant structure perfectly frames the city skyline from one side, and older parts of Dubai on the other.

Dubai is a dynamic global travel destination. During your week to study photography here, you’ll learn about slow-moving camels, fast-moving cars, and the speed at which Dubai turned into a huge cosmopolitan city, world-class tourist destination and hub of international business.
