Study Oceanography in Fiji

Your overseas adventure is off and away as you travel to Nadi. As your plane descends, look out your window to see Fiji’s diverse landscape of jungles, waterfalls, and crystal-clear shores. A local guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your beach resort. 

The afternoon is yours to explore. Take a nature walk, splash in the hotel infinity pool, or soak your feet into the beach’s white sand. In the evening, you will meet with your group and local guide for dinner. Take some time to get to know the people you will be spending with on the next week of adventures. 

Start your first full day in Fiji with a splash as you board your luxury yacht. Enjoy the wind in your hair and salty sea smell as you make your way to Mana island. Jump off the yacht’s top deck for a refreshing swim. Meet Fiji’s spectacular exotic marine life as you snorkel the island. Next, you’re off the island’s breathtaking deep sea cove. Keep a lookout for sea turtles! Enjoy an authentic Fijian lunch at Modriki island before kayaking through its waters. 

An oceanographer will accompany you on each of your ocean excursions to provide you with education on the physical and biological aspects of the South Pacific Ocean. You’ll learn about its waves, currents, and plate tectonics. There isn’t a better place to learn about oceanography, so be sure to ask lots of questions on your endeavors.

Take a break from the water as you make your way to Fiji’s newest zip-line experience. Harness up and take flight as you soar through three unique ecosystems. Take in spectacular views of mountains, rainforests, caves, and the South Pacific Ocean from an aerial perspective. Following your ride, enjoy a tour through limestone caves where you will set up for a picnic lunch. Take time to explore your surroundings with a hike to nearby waterfalls or a walk along the ocean before heading back to your hotel.

It’s back to the ocean as you board a private tall ship built in 1957. Make your way to the tropical Tivua Island, which is surrounded by a coral reef and encircled by white sand beaches. As you cruise, your oceanographer will give you a crash-course on marine science. As you arrive at the island, you’ll be greeted with Fijian music and an entertainment crew. Make your way to the island’s sea turtle sanctuary to learn about and view these spectacular animals. Next, enjoy a barbecue lunch before setting out on a glass-bottom boat for some coral viewing. Take the later afternoon to explore before heading back to your hotel.

Calling all adrenaline junkies, today was planned just for you! Make your way to the Skydive Fiji Office for a safety briefing before taking flight. After a scenic ride 8000 feet into the air, it’s time to harness in to your gear. Find your inner courage as you jump out of the plane for a 60-second freefall. Finally, your parachute will launch. Enjoy captivating views of sandy beaches, coral reefs, and turquoise waters as you soar. Professional video and photography will be taken during your adventure to treasure this experience and show your loved ones back home!

It’s your final day in Fiji, and we want to make it especially memorable! Board your yacht to make your way to the picturesque island of Kuata. You’ll immediately notice its spectacular scenery, warm waters, and friendly hospitality. After a safety demonstration, you’ll experience the incredible thrill of snorkeling with reef sharks. As you dive into the waters, enjoy an up-close and personal experience with these powerful marine predators in their natural environment. Following this, enjoy lunch and ocean activities.

Go kayaking, hang out in a beach hammock, enjoy the beachfront restaurant, swim in the shark-free pool, or enjoy more snorkeling — the choice is yours!

It has been an educational and adventurous week in Fiji, but the time has come to say goodbye. Enjoy one final breakfast with your group and guides. Reflect on your fondest memories of the trip and what you learned. Next, you’re off to the local airport for your departure flight.
