Itinerary

Welcome to jolly old England! Take in the sights of London as you travel to your hotel where your guides will greet you. Relax and take a load off, knowing that your Harry Potter adventure awaits. Talk to your guides and get to know their story, ask them about London, and learn more about the London vibe and culture.

Enjoy your first meal in London and spend the day exploring around your hotel. While London is a modern city bustling with life, you’ll find plenty of history, so make sure to keep your eyes open. While this is a Harry Potter tour, it’s certainly fun to learn more about the city where you’re staying. London is the largest city in England and is considered one of the most desirable, sustainable, and innovative cities in the world!

It’s time to jump right into the wizarding world with a Harry Potter Locations Walking Tour. On this tour, you’ll see many of the locations that were used to film the Harry Potter movies, including places like the Ministry of Magic and more. Discover the many places that the films used as well as places that inspired J.K. Rowling in her writing of the books. During this tour, you’ll learn interesting facts about the books and films, about wizarding and muggle history, and you can always ask your tour guide questions.

Not only will you be able to enjoy sites related to Harry Potter, but you’ll also enjoy the wonderful sights of London. Some of them include the Millenium Bridge, Borough Market, Tate Modern, and more. Make sure to take plenty of pictures!

Take a lovely walk through the London Zoo where you’ll be seeing the Reptile House, the first place where Harry experiences magic (well, at least that we see). This is the actual place where the scene from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was filmed. Here is where Harry spoke Parseltongue for the first time and freed a snake that has been dreaming of traveling to Brazil. Maybe you’ll discover that you also have the Parseltongue gift. If J.K. Rowling taught us anything, it’s that nothing is impossible.

While you’re at the zoo, take a walk around and explore. The London Zoo has a lot to offer. Make sure to explore the area to see more animals such as penguins, lemurs, lions, and even spiders! Visit the Terrace Restaurant and have a delicious meal. The Terrace Restaurant cooks with meat from welfare-conscious farms, with fish from sustainable sources, and uses as much seasonal produce as possible from locally sourced places. So you can feel good knowing more about the food you eat.

Marvel at the location where the crew and actors from Harry Potter spent ten years filming scenes from the movie. For Harry Potter fans, this is a sacred place. During this tour, you’ll see the amazing set pieces that were used such as the Great Hall, the Forbidden Forest, Platform 9¾ and Diagon Alley. It will feel like you’ve stepped right into a magical land that came straight from the book.

You’ll also be able to see many amazing props that were used during the movie. Marvel at the potions classroom where a wall is covered in over 950 potions jars with unique props inside such as baked animal bones, dried leaves, shrunken heads, and more. Peruse the 900 memory vials and labels that were created for the cabinet Dumbledore’s office. Take a gander at the many products the prop masters created for Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes and you’ll start feeling mischievous yourself.

Finally, for all those fans that loved the costumes from Harry Potter, now it’s your turn to see some fantastic costumes in person. You’ll be able to see costumes the cast members wore for the Yule Ball, for Quidditch and more. By the end of this tour you’ll walk away with an experience you’ll never forget.

Leadenhall Market is a historical location and iconic in London. It dates back to the 14th century and was the center of Roman London. It also happens to be where many scenes from Diagon Alley were filmed, and it’s no surprise why. The Market is incredible, bursting with color, and filled with many shops and restaurants. Shop around and get a wonderful feel of Leadenhall Market and Diagon Alley.

As you walk through the marketplace, you’ll be in awe of the beautiful architecture and experience the unique vibe of London. Leadenhall Market is amazing and for more than being a location where Harry Potter was filmed. While you’re here, make sure to indulge yourself in a meal at one of the many restaurants located here.

It’s time to round out the trip with a little magic of your own. Step into The Cauldron and be welcomed with a delightful staff before preparing to mix some potions of your own. During this Cauldron Magical Cocktail Experience, you’ll put on a magical robe, be handed a wand, and led to an interactive work station where the fun begins.

First, you’ll test out your magic wand by creating a welcome drink. Once you’ve tested your wand it’s onto more advanced potions. You’ll choose two molecular potions to create among the many range of potions available. Each potion has different traits and effects so choose wisely. If you find yourself stumbling with a potion, no worries. A potions master is on hand should you need any guidance. Will you be like Hermione and grasp potions with no sweat? Or will you be like Neville who accidentally melts a cauldron in his first potions class? You’ll find out!

No visit to London is complete without a ride on the London Eye. The city view from the 443 feet tall wheel is spectacular. View everything that is London from the city proper to London Bridge, to the Shard and the Pickle.

After lunch, try your luck at the Harry Potter Escape Room. Put all your Hogwarts training to work as you use your cunning wits and magic to find your way out of the Hogwarts themed clues.

For your last night in London, enter the real world of Hogwarts. Your accommodations will be at a Wizarding Chamber Room. The London hotel will transport you to a world full of magic and wizardry for the night, complete with a full library of Harry Potter films on demand. The room experience decor includes cauldrons in fireplaces, velvet curtained bed chambers, candle lit, portrait lined hallways and maybe a ghost or two.

After the sumptuous breakfast rounding out your wizarding night, you will board the morning train to Northumberland. Alnwick Castle was transformed to Hogwarts Castle in two of the films: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.  Your local guide will bring Harry Potter to life as you visit the Quidditch training ground, the crash landing of the Weasley’s flying car, and the gateway to Hagrid’s House.

Participate in a broomstick flying class and hone your skills in the basics of Quidditch!

Your accommodations for this evening will be a quaint inn with a view of the water and a castle.

Northumberland is a beautiful, rustic area of the United Kingdom. Spend your day playing on the sea shore or climbing the gentle hills or zip lining, kite surfing, or touring Hadrian’s Wall.

Take a breath and enjoy your last day in Englad. Talk to your local guides and fellow companions about your experiences with the many locations you visited. What did you find most interesting about this trip? What was the most surprising fact about Harry Potter that you learned? You’ll have come as a muggle and be leaving as one knowledgeable witch or wizard. In the words of Ginny Weasley, “Anything is possible if you’ve got enough nerve.” – Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Muggles, Welcome to London! Prepare to enter the magical wizarding world on this Harry Potter tour in London where you’ll see amazing sets and props used in the films, explore destinations that inspired J.K. Rowling, shop in unique Harry Potter stores, create magical potions, and more. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, then this is where you need to be.

Not only will you get to enjoy a wonderful Harry Potter-themed trip, but you’ll also witness many magnificent sites that London has to offer. You’ll learn a bit more about London culture, but you’ll learn a lot more about Harry Potter, the filming, the book, and the magic.

Now, in the words of the great Albus Dumbledore, “Let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.” – Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
