After arriving into Queenstown and settling into your hotel, start your trip abroad with a scenic gondola ride up to Bob’s Peak. Go for a short hike, visit the Moonlight Theatre, and make sure to browse the Jelly Belly store. Before heading back down to your hotel for the night, dine at a local restaurant and take in the views of the glowing city below.
After indulging in a delicious breakfast take a short drive to Glenorchy, the home of the filming locations of “The Lord of the Rings” and Narnia films. Here, experience the charming mountain ranges and the bright blue water of Dart River. Explore the landscape by horseback or take a relaxing boat ride down the river. Whether or not you are a Tolkien fan, you will fall in love with the golden and enchanting scenery of the valleys, plains, and mountains found in Glenorchy.
Begin the day early with a short flight to Christchurch, then spend the day on a nine-hour sightseeing train ride. You will get to see the Waimakariri River, the Southern Alps, and the Native Neech Forest. This breathtaking journey will leave you with unforgettable sights and prime photo opportunities. Along the way, sit back with a freshly made latte or a glass of the finest wine in New Zealand. Once back in Christchurch, spend the rest of the day exploring by visiting the Christchurch Art Gallery or the Botanic Gardens before finding a local restaurant for dinner.
To start the day, fly into the city of Wellington and spend the day with wildlife. First visit the eco-sanctuary Zealandi. Keep your eye out for native insects and birds as well as a local reptile, the tuatara. Find a cafe in Wellington for lunch before meeting your guide for a seal safari on the rugged coast. Travel through private farmlands to the south coast where you will get to see the seals and the famous Leaning Lighthouse. Before settling in for the night, experience the nightlife of the city.
It is going to be a long day, so make sure to eat a hearty breakfast. Fly into Rotoura, a place known for its Māori culture and natural hot springs. Make your way to the Wai-o-tapu Thermal Valley where you will get to see geothermal attractions like steaming fumaroles, volcanic craters, and silica terraces. This wonderland will keep you on your toes as you walk through colorful geothermal masterpieces and complete the experience by visiting the mud pool. End the day by catching a flight to Auckland, where you will check in to your hotel for the night.
Begin the day with a 35-minute ferry ride to Waiheke Island. After finding your hotel, grab a swimsuit and pack a lunch for a picnic. Relax on the beach and get a tan or go searching for seashells. For the evening go wine tasting at one the vineyards while watching the sunset on the horizon. Make sure to get any last pictures of this paradise before heading home tomorrow.
Catch a ferry ride back to Ackland before boarding your flight home.
