Itinerary

Your overseas adventure has begun as you travel to Reykjavik. As your plane descends, keep an eye out for Iceland’s diverse terrain of lava fields, glaciers, and hot springs, which will be your new home for the next week! A local guide will wait to meet you at the airport and transfer you to your luxury resort.

You have the rest of the afternoon to rest, unpack, and explore. Take a dip in the heated outside pool with views, walk into the quaint village, or drop by the hotel spa. In the evening, you will regroup with your guide to enjoy a buffet dinner, offering you a great opportunity to get to know your guide who will be with you throughout your trip.

Today is your first day to explore the rugged country of Iceland! Mark your way to southern Iceland to arrive at the renowned Golden Circle, a sightseeing route to showcase Iceland’s breathtaking wonders. Stop by Gullfoss Waterfall to watch the roaring river soar off 500 feet cliffs. Next, you’ll arrive at Haukadalur to watch geysers burst into the air and feel their mist on your face. Enjoy a picnic lunch before arriving at Thingvellir National Park, a location featuring untouched beauty coupled with ancient history. Learn about its history as being home to Iceland’s first parliamentary assembly. As you make your way back to your hotel, take in panoramic views.

It’s the day you’ve been waiting for – the “Game of Thrones” Tour! As you travel to Thingvellir National Park, a guide will educate you on Iceland’s role in filming the “Game of Thrones” series. As you arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will tour the set of many scenes in this series featuring White Walkers. Make sure to take lots of photos to compare to the on-screen pictures. Next, make your way to the gorge of Thingvellir to view the American and European tectonic plates drifting apart, another filming location for the series. Enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant before making your way to the largest geothermal power station in the country. Next, arrive at Porufoss Waterfall, the setting for the scene where Daenerys’ dragon attacked a local goat. Make your way to a horse farm to meet the four-legged stars of the series, Icelandic horses. They played the role of Westeros garrons. Finally, you’ll arrive at Almannagja gorge, where the “Bloody Gate of the Eyrie” scene was filmed.

After an incredibly busy day of touring yesterday, today is all about relaxation and serenity. In the morning, you’ll be transported to the geothermal, healing waters of the Blue Lagoon. Put on your swimsuit for a soak in this mineral-rich, milky blue natural spa. Enjoy a glass of champagne with good company and try on algae face mask for silky, soft skin. After you have recharged in the warm water, make your way to a local restaurant for lunch. Following this, you’ll be transported back to your hotel.

It’s another day of “Game of Thrones” touring. Start the morning with a hearty breakfast while watching an episode of “Game of Thrones” that features the locations you will travel to today. Next, it’s time to board your luxury coach bus and make your way to the south coast. Enjoy Iceland’s raw and spectacular beauty on the way. Make your way to two of Iceland’s most powerful volcanoes to hear stories about trolls and elves. Next, you’re off to a dairy farm to enjoy their delicious volcano soup. Now, it’s time to visit Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. Walk behind its base and enjoy the mist on your skin. Finally, you will visit Skogafoss Waterfall where numerous “Game of Thrones” episodes were filmed. Explore this hidden treasure before heading back to your hotel.

Another adventurous day awaits as you make your way to the Thrihnukagigur volcano. Hike along the craggy formations of the inactive volcano’s lava field. Admire volcanic cones and gas fissures before arriving at the rim of the crater. Harness into an open cable elevator to descend into the site. View the inner surface of the volcano, which is scattered with a vast array of colors due to the magma that once flowed along its surface. Make your way back to Reykjavik for lunch and free time. Once dusk arrives, you’ll have the opportunity to experience one of nature’s greatest spectacles. Venture into Iceland’s dark countryside to catch a dazzling display of Northern Lights.

Time has flown by, and we have reached your final day in Iceland. Enjoy an early breakfast with your group and guides to reflect on your favorite moments of the trip, as well as what knowledge you will bring home with you.
