Itinerary

Take in the view of mountaintops as you descend into beautiful Salt Lake City. You’ll meet your guide at the airport after you land and grab a bite to eat in the area while discussing logistics for bike rentals. Explore Salt Lake City and wrap up your evening with a favorite local activity: sunset viewing from a trail accessed through The Avenues neighborhood.

After a quick early breakfast, you’ll begin your trip by taking a car to Moab. There, you’ll secure your bikes for the journey and settle into the eco-friendly yurt waiting for you. You can take this opportunity to get your tires dirty by familiarizing yourself with a couple of the trails nearby. You’ll end the day with dinner at your yurt surrounded by serene evening mountain views.

You wanted the type of legendary mountain biking trails that Moab is famous for, and The Whole Enchilada is exactly that. You’ll start the morning by fueling up with a big breakfast for a few hours on the trails, then head over to a shuttle that will take you to your trailhead. The Whole Enchilada is a combination of six trails that span 25 miles of diverse terrain (alpine forest, oak groves, rocky areas) from the La Sal Mountains to Colorado River. It will be grueling and totally worth the effort. After your workout, you’ll venture out to nearby Dead Horse State Park for an easy hike, dinner, and a truly mesmerizing experience stargazing at the so-called “International Dark Sky Park.”

After a challenging day of biking yesterday, you’ll take on a different kind of outdoor adventure today as you meet your guide at Chamisa Canyon for a half day of canyoneering. The trek will involve hiking, climbing, rappelling, and cooling off as you wade through the water-carved canyon walls. After your excursion, you’ll eat lunch at a local spot and spend the second half of your day at Arches National Park where you’ll hike the Devil’s Garden Trail and get to witness many of the famous arches up close.

Rise and shine, because it’s time to hop on your bike again! This time, you’ll tackle a Moab classic – Slickrock Trail. You’ll wind through over ten miles of Navajo sandstone that leads to your payoff of an incredible view of the Colorado River. You’ll want some time to wind down after the challenge of Slickrock, so head back into town and over to Ken’s Lake. There, you’ll enjoy a picnic and swim or paddle in the cool, mountain runoff water. End your day outdoors with an easy hike along the river trail at Grandstaff Canyon with a peek at Morning Glory Natural Bridge.

After taking your time to soak in the last of Moab with breakfast at your yurt, you’ll start the journey back to Salt Lake City. On the way, you’ll take a quick detour to Fifth Water Hot Springs for a relaxing and well-earned soak in one of Utah’s natural hot springs. After you’ve indulged your sore muscles, you’ll finish the trek and enjoy a final dinner in town.

It’s time to head home and bid farewell to Utah’s red-rocked beauty and nature-filled adventures.

It’s easy to see why Moab is hailed as one of the best mountain biking locations in the world. With a variety of terrain, endless amounts of trails, a deep respect for the environment, and some of the most breathtaking views around, outdoor enthusiasts won’t soon forget this incomparable eco adventure.
