Itinerary

After touching down in the vibrant Peruvian city of Cusco, take a car over to your hotel and settle in. Spend the day exploring Cusco, a South American gem full of history and culture. After perusing the local street shops and popular San Pedro Market, make your way back to your room for the night.

Wake up and enjoy breakfast in Cusco before making the commute to Anta in the Ancahuasi District to explore the archaeological site of Quillarumiyoc. There, observe the Incas devotion to the moon by touring the area filled with carved symbols, natural rock formations, tombs, and terraces.

Next, journey to Salkantay for a challenging but rewarding 4-mile hike through the Salkantay Mountains. The payoff? A breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding diverse landscape. Break for a bite, then hop in your private transportation to head to your luxurious and sustainable accommodations at Pincopata Eco Camp.

After a night of peaceful glamping, hold onto the theme of serenity with morning tea in the neighboring town of Soray. Make the short trip over to Humantay Lake where you’ll take a 4-mile hike around the magical, turquoise waters surrounded by mountain peaks. From there, it’s back Pincopata to fuel up with dinner before making the trek to Cusco.

New day, new destination! Today you’ll board a flight to Lima, then transfer by bus to Huacachina. You’ll quickly learn why this desert sanctuary is known for adventure as you experience a thrilling dune buggy and sandboarding tour.

Wake up in Huacachina and venture over to Paracas where you’ll board a boat touring the protected Isla Ballestas. Enjoy views of the rocky islands and the abundant wildlife like penguins and sea lions that inhabit the area. After the water cruise, head back to Huacachina for dinner and a visit to the infamous lagoon or to explore more of the rolling sand dunes.

Today you’ll get more acquainted with the Huacachina area by taking a quick drive over to the nearby town, Ica. There, get an authentic experience by browsing the markets and sampling fare and commodities produced by local farmers.

This area of Peru may be known for its desert environment, but it’s also a fundamental location for red wine and pisco, a Peruvian brandy. Embark on a winery tour where you’ll learn about the production process and try the local wine and pisco.

After breakfast, you’ll head back to the coastal desert of Paracas. Start your day of exploration with an immersive experience in pre-Inca Peruvian culture at the local archaeological museum. Spend the rest of the afternoon taking in the natural beauty of Paracas National Reserve by strolling the shores of one of the beaches, snapping photos of the dramatic rock formations, and catching sights of the diverse wildlife in the area.

After a truly memorable Peruvian adventure, you’ll head back to Lima where you’ll depart for home.

As the historical hub of the Incan Empire, Peru has a lot to offer in the way of a cultural timeline. Add brilliant Pacific waters, mountain ranges, and steep sand dunes and you have what sets this South American region apart as a truly diverse destination. Enjoy the full spectrum of variety as you experience responsible travel in Peru.
