Rafting in Costa Rica

Arrive in the historically and culturally rich capital of San José where your adventure awaits. After lunch, enjoy the rest of the evening free to explore the vibrant streets of San José at your own pace. Take a step back into the 19th century to Barrio Amón, the historic neighborhood where various mansions were built for the coffee growers.

Rise early for breakfast and get ready for your departure to La Fortuna and the official start of your adventure that awaits! Along the way, stop for a visit to a coffee plantation in Arenal where you will satisfy your senses as you learn about Costa Rica’s most important export and learn as you observe firsthand how it is grown, harvested, and roasted. Continue onward to La Fortuna where you will have your choice of activities to spend the afternoon whether you opt for zip-lining through the forest canopy, kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding around Lake Arenal. The choice is yours!

Wake early for a tempting breakfast and get ready for an adventure-packed day of trekking and waterfall chasing. Start your day by taking one of the trails to the Arenal Volcano, one that has remained dormant since 2010. Enjoy the incredible views over Arenal and La Fortuna from the top and from the sky bridges along the way hanging through the forest canopies! After your volcano trek, head to La Fortuna Waterfall to relax at this pristine and powerful waterfall. For some extra relaxation, head over to one of the many natural hot springs to relax your muscles after an exhilarating day. 

Enjoy breakfast and get ready for the rafting adventure of a lifetime as you plunge through the rapids overlooking the Carribean coasts and tropical rainforests. Today you will raft at the exciting Toro River that begins near the Poás Volcano through the highlands of Costa Rica. Get ready for a fast-paced escapade as you sweep through these large waves!

After breakfast, get ready for another day of adventure with zip-lining and rafting in the Balsa River. Zip-line through the tropical rainforest canopies as you get a bird’s eye view of the verdant greenery below and if you’re lucky, spot some wildlife in their natural habitat! Afterward, head down to the river for a more calm rafting adventure as you pass through the scenic rainforest landscapes.

Enjoy an early breakfast before jetting off to the birthplace of the zip-line — Welcome to Monteverde! Today will be spent zip-lining over the cloud forests as you marvel at the picturesque landscape just below you. Go bird spotting to observe the magnificent resplendent quetzal in the exact town named best in the world for spotting them. Don’t forget to hike the world-famous hanging bridges so you can walk among the clouds in the forest taking in the breathtaking views all around.
