Itinerary

Your trip abroad studying science and engineering marvels of Leonardo Da Vinci is set to begin in the lovely city of Milan. After checking in at your accommodations, a tour guide awaits you to take your group through the city. Visit historic sites like the Teatro alla’ Scala, Il’ Duomo and the Arco Della Pace. After walking around the city, your group will enjoy a delicious dinner and have the opportunity to enjoy the nightlife of this beautiful city.

Your second day in Milan will begin with a delicious breakfast, after which your group will head to the Leonardo Da Vinci Science and Technology Museum.  Once there, a guide will show you around the different exhibitions. The building used to be a 16th-century Olivetan monastery and spans over nine acres large. The museum collections illustrate the evolution in science and technology since Leonardo Da Vinci’s time. The museum contains working models of the artist’s manuscripts and a workshop where visitors can experiment with some of the interactive models. You can also experiment with some of the artistic techniques of the Renaissance.

For your final day in Milan, your group will head to the Leonardo3 Museum – Il Mondo di Leonardo housed in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. The exhibit has over 200 interactive models of Leonardo’s machinery, including some never-before-seen examples like the Macchina volante di Milano, the Grande Nibbio and the Clavi-Viola. It also has several interactive multimedia experiences.

Once your tour has concluded, your group will head to the Parco Sempione, a large city park off the beaten path. There are many recreational activities to do outdoors for children and adults alike. The park also has a few historic buildings to visit and different places to eat and drink. Enjoy a delicious gelato while strolling through the park, or grab a bite to eat.

After an early morning, your group will head to the train station to depart to the next city on your tour. After about two hours, your group will arrive in Venice, a beautiful seaside city. After checking into your accommodations, your group will head to the Gallerie dell’Accademia for a guided tour of the museum. Da Vinci’s famous “Vitruvian Man” is housed here, along with many other works by Venetian Masters.

After your group has finished touring the different exhibitions, what trip to Venice is complete without riding on one of the gondolas? Sail through the Venetian canals and enjoy the sights while being serenaded by your gondolier. Once your ride has concluded, your group will enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars in one of Venice’s many restaurants.

After an early morning and breakfast, your group will head to the train station to head to the final city on your tour. After a two-hour train ride, you will arrive in Florence, the city that saw the birth of Da Vinci. After checking into your accommodations, your group will head to the Leonardo da Vinci Museum for a guided tour.  The exhibition is divided into five sections; Mechanisms, Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. Each name sets the theme in which the different items are categorized. It also includes a faithful recreation of Da Vinci’s Gran Cavallo, whose clay model was destroyed when the French invaded Milan in 1499. After the tour of the museum, your group can walk around the city and enjoy the sights and culture of this robust Tuscan city.

You’ll spend your final day in the town of Vinci. A short drive away from Florence, the identity of this town was modeled after the Renaissance Master. Upon arriving,  you will receive a guided tour through the Leonardiano di Vinci Museum, home to a collection of replicas of Da Vinci’s drawings and designs.

After touring the museum, your group will head to the Casa Natale di Leonardo. As the name suggests, this was the home the artist was born in, it now serves as a small museum. After a day full of walking and enjoying the Italian countryside, your group will return to Florence to enjoy dinner and one last night stroll through this beautiful city.

After breakfast, your group will be able to tour the city of Florence and do some last-minute shopping before heading back to the airport for the trip back home. With minds full of newfound knowledge, you can teach your friends and loved ones all the new things you have learned.

Leonardo Da Vinci was one of history’s greatest minds, whose work has transcended beyond the Renaissance period. His genius manifested into many faculties, not just the arts. Join us on this trip abroad to study how Da Vinci influenced the sciences and engineering of today, and learn how we can all contribute to living greener and more sustainable lives.
