Itinerary

Your adventure has begun as you global travel to Amsterdam. As your plane descends, take a look out your window to see the Netherlands’ flat landscape and unending canals. A local guide will be waiting to greet you at the airport and transfer you to your city hotel.

Take some time to unpack and relax; you have the afternoon free. Stroll along the city streets, splash into the hotel pool, or enjoy a coffee at a nearby cafe. It’s up to you! In the evening, you’ll meet for dinner with your local guide — an excellent opportunity to ask questions about your upcoming schedule.

Today you will be touring the city of Amsterdam in the best way possible – via segway. Start by enjoying Amsterdam’s waterfront as you glide along lake IJ’s river bank. Next, scoot toward Amsterdam’s 17th-century Maritime Museum, the oldest zoo in the country, and botanical gardens. Whenever you want to stop, just let the guide know. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before cross the famous Skinny Bridge, which is an excellent photo opportunity. Finally, you will zoom through the canal district to arrive at Dam Square.

Take a day away from the city life, to explore the Dutch countryside. You’ll stop at the quaint town of Zaanse Schan, which is scattered with well-preserved 17th-century windmills. Explore the area before enjoying lunch at a local cafe. Next, take a boat ride to Volendam and Marken to admire a quaint scene of cheese farms and fishing boats. Watch a demonstration of cheese making and enjoy plenty of samples. After your tour and taking lots of photos, you’ll head back into the city.

Hopefully, you woke up with an empty stomach because today is all about eating. Begin at Spui Square where you’ll walk along canals and over bridges to hear about the evolution of Dutch cuisine. Stop by a cafe to try the country’s hot, salty French fries, inspired by its Belgian neighbor. Next, sample another Dutch favorite, fresh herring. You’ll walk over to a cheese factory to also sample some pungent artisan cheeses. Following this, you’ll continue to a 17-century distillery to try its house spirit. We hope you saved room for dessert! Finally, you will get to try a slice of boterkoek and stroopwafel. You won’t likely be too hungry for dinner tonight!

It’s time for another excursion outside of Amsterdam as you make your way to Bruges. A guide will provide you with a city overview before you can explore the lace shops, chocolate stores, and quaint streets independently. Stop by Beginjinof, which is a collection of white houses once owned by widowed women. Next, head to Heilig-Bloedbasiliek to discover a vial of Christ’s blood (yikes!). Finally, watch a demonstration of lace making followed by a cruise down a canal.

It’s time to visit one of the top-rated tourist attractions in the country, the Anne Frank House. A private guide will show you through this museum with a story and inform you about Anne Frank and her family during the Holocaust. Walk into Anne’s bedroom, view writing from her original diary, and hear stories about what life was like for Anne as she was living in hiding. In the evening, unwind with a two-hour candlelight cruise along Amsterdam’s canals. Sip wine and enjoy cheese platters before being served a four-course meal. What a way to end your final night in the Netherlands!

It has been an unforgettable week in the Netherlands, but the time has come for you to leave. Enjoy a final breakfast with your group and guides. Discuss your favorite memories of the trip. Next, it’s off the airport to catch your departure flight.

The Netherlands is known for its illuminated canal life, fields of blooming color, and windmills under vast skies. With its intertwining of innovation and tradition, the country has attracted tourists for decades and will do so for decades to come.

On this trip to the Netherlands, you will have an adventurous and educational experience. The trip’s highlights include tasting traditional Dutch delicacies, discovering 17th-century windmills in the countryside, and touring the Anne Frank house. Global travel to Amsterdam today!
