Itinerary

Arrive in the East African country of Kenya, and meet the local guides who will be accompanying you on this week-long safari adventure! Upon arrival, depart to Nairobi National Park as your guides brief you on the extensive wildlife that calls this incredibly diverse region home. After reaching the park, go for an evening game drive, spotting one of the largest populations of elephants in Africa, the unique tree-climbing lions, giraffes, hippo populations, and the many flocks of flamingos by Lake Manyara as you learn about these species from your local guide.

Enjoy an early breakfast before heading out to spot the over 400 different species of birds that gather around the lake. Continue driving to observe the various animals who inhabit the vegetation, including monkeys, antelopes, giraffes, and elephants as you learn about the nuances of these animals’ behaviors from your local guides. Savor a tempting lunch over a picnic surrounded by nature and the sounds of wildlife before heading back to your lodge to relax.

Rise early to watch the sunrise over the endless plains fading into the distance, and enjoy a hearty breakfast before crossing to the Masai Mara National Reserve, the heart of wild Africa. Get ready for a full-day game drive on the edge of Serengeti as you search the river for leopards hiding among the tree branches. Continue the drive looking out for lions and cheetahs resting in the rocky hills known as kopjes, as well as the possible gazelles, ostriches, and topi sightings.

Gear up for another exciting day exploring Maasai Mara National Reserve by safari. Enjoy the unique opportunity to spot wildlife from jeep as you marvel at the picturesque scenery of this corner of East Africa. Continue your adventure and head out for another game drive along the Kopjes Circuit around the Maasai Kopjes where you can spot vast numbers of lions and king cobras along the outcrops.

Wake to a tasty breakfast before exiting the park and traveling to Kibera – the biggest slum in Africa. Today, your group will donate water filtration systems to contribute to UNSDG #6: Clean Water & Sanitation. You’ll help the community install their new water systems in addition to providing community education on how to use them.

Have breakfast just before departing to the final full day of this adventure to NGO, Wildlife Club of Kenya. At their headquarters in Nairobi, your group will learn more about conservation and ecotourism in Kenya.

Enjoy a final group breakfast before packing up and beginning your departure home. Your local guides will transport you back to Nairobi to catch your return flight home as you look back at the memories made on your week-long Kenya safari and environmental adventure.

Uncover the extensive wildlife and vegetation of this East African region as you embark on your overseas adventures to study animal sciences abroad in Kenya. Go on game drives in some of Africa’s best national parks and reserves as you learn about the vast wildlife inhabiting the region and enjoy up close opportunities to spot elephants, lions, and many more fascinating species in their animal kingdom.
