Itinerary

Your adventure has begun as you global travel to Tokyo, Japan. As you descend, keep an eye out for the country’s magnificent mountains and bustling cities. This is your new home for the next week! A local guide will wait to meet you at the airport and transfer you to your city hotel.

You have the rest of the afternoon to rest, unpack, and explore. Take a dip in the rooftop pool, check out the games room, or stroll along the city’s streets. In the evening, you will regroup with your guide to enjoy a buffet dinner, which is a great opportunity to get to know your guide who will be with you throughout your trip.

After a well-rested night, it’s time to explore your new surroundings. Head into the heart of Tokyo to visit the city’s tourist hotspots including the renowned Tsukiji Fish Market and Kaminarimon Gate in Asakusa. You’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant for an authentic Japanese lunch. Following this, you will walk through the city’s stunning imperial gardens. Soak up the crisp fresh air and stunning nature that surrounds you. Finally, you will take the elevator up the tallest building in Japan, Tokyo Tower. Enjoy panoramic views before heading back to your hotel.

After a busy day yesterday in the city, take a break to experience Japan’s spectacular nature. Climb into your luxury coach to arrive at the scenic Nikko National Park. From here, hike to the UNESCO-listed Toshongu Shrine, the mausoleum of a 17th-century monarch. Explore its opulent royal chambers and gold-leaf embellishments. Enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine in the park before venturing to Kegon Waterfall. Take pictures of this majestic natural wonder from multiple vantage points, including the observation deck. Finally, engage in some retail therapy in Tokyo’s entertainment district in search of the perfect souvenir.

It’s the day you’ve been waiting for – today you will experience Japan’s spectacular snow monkeys! Wake up bright and early for a 2-hour bullet train ride to the Nagano Prefecture. Once arrived, make your way to Zenkoji Temple before exploring a nearby market to shop for local food and keepsakes. After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll make your way to Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park. Here, you will discover a spectacular geyser, as well as wild snow monkeys. The Japanese people named the geyser, Jigokudani, which means “hell valley.” However, this did not scare away the snow monkeys as they gather in the famous hot springs. A professional on snow monkeys will educate you on their behavior, biology, and significance. Enjoy watching them playing and feed them with fresh fruit before heading back to the train station.

It’s time to learn more about the culture of Japan. What better way to do so than learning about it via food as you will learn on today’s tour. Start at the Tsukiji Fish Market to gather ingredients. Next, you’ll head to a nearby restaurant for a masterclass in preparing classic sushi. As a group, you’ll create five different types of rolls with the help of numerous chefs. Now’s the fun part! Enjoy a collective lunch eating your prepared meal. Well done chef! Take the rest of the day to explore Tokyo independently.

For your final full day in Japan, you will explore its most famous attraction: Mount Fuji. Travel by bullet train to arrive at its bustling station. Learn about the history and significance of Mount Fuji as you ride. After disembarking the train, jump on a boat to cruise closer to the spectacular mountain. Soak up the awe-inspiring views of this spectacular mountain, and keep an eye out for wildlife as you cruise. Following this, you’ll ride on the Mt Komagatake Ropeway to enjoy spectacular aerial panoramic views of Mount Fuji. Take a break with a picnic lunch at the mountain’s base before heading back to your hotel.

Time has flown by, and we have reached your final day in Japan. Enjoy an early breakfast with your group and guides to reflect on your favorite moments of the trip, as well as what knowledge you will bring home with you.
