Upon your arrival at the airport, you are going to make your way to the hotel. Since San Francisco is a very urban city, no need to rent a car. Public transportation such as the double-decker bus, trains or ride-sharing apps such as Uber or Lyft are available. Explore the city at your leisure but before the sun sets make your way to Baker Beach to watch the sunset from the Golden Gate Bridge. At sunset, Baker Beach is the best place to photograph the Golden Gate Bridge. That is the best time to get a reflection of the bridge in the water as the waves recede.
Today, you will take a tour of the famous streets in the city of San Francisco. You will start the day by going to Alamo Square Park. Across the street is the famous row of Victorian houses that are colorfully painted in bright colors, and also known as the Postcard Row. These houses are famously seen in the opening credits of the television show “Full House.”
After, you’ll hop on the double-decker bus on your way to the famous zig-zag street known as Lombard Street, which is famous for a steep, one-block section with eight hairpin turns and is known as “the crookedest street in the world.” Head up the Coit Memorial Tower where you have the view of the entire street in one snapshot.
Head over to Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco to enjoy the pier, the crisp air and the smell of fresh fish. Wander the sidewalk seafood stands full of live crab and seafood cocktails. RIght across the street, you can check out the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park, where you can tour the historic ships docked at the Hyde Street Pier.
After enjoying the pier, you will meet your tour guide to start your bike ride tour. The tour will pedal you through the waterfront of San Francisco Bay, where you will enjoy views of Alcatraz Island, Golden Gate Bridge, Marina Green, Chrissy Field and many more! The bike ride will conclude in Sausalito, a small, upscale town known for its picturesque waterfront scenery. Your bike tour includes a full day bike rental so you can continue to use the bike for the rest of the day if you wish.
Today you will take an all-day tour visiting Yosemite National Park. The tour bus will pick you up at your hotel in the morning. Settle in the drive for great scenery across the Bay Bridge continuing to the Sierra Nevada foothills and Gold Country. Once entering Yosemite, you will make a quick stop for a guided hike among the Sequoia redwoods. Boarding the bus again you will drive for photo ops to the Bridalveil Fall, Half Dome and El Capitan before continuing to the Yosemite Valley. At the falls, you will be able to explore at your own leisure of also the Yosemite Village.
On this day you will be picked up at your hotel by the tour guide to start your day tour of Muir Woods National Park. You will be dropped off at the entrance to the park, and your admission ticket is included. Spend time admiring the 1,000-year-old redwood trees that are native to California. These woods have been protected as a national monument since 1908. They can reach nearly 380 feet tall! At the end of the day you will be escorted back to your hotel.
Today you will be picked up at your hotel in San Francisco in a luxury coach bus for your wine tour. You will be on your way to the famous wine country and the views of the vast landscapes outside of the city. Your first stop is in Sonoma, to Nicholson Ranch Winery. You will be tasting the wine and take in the stunning views of the vineyard. Next up is if Madonna Estate Winery in Napa, where you will witness more countryside vineyards and processes of how the wine is made. And finally, you will head over to the famous Sutter Homes Winery. There you will enjoy time in the tasting room and hear stories about this family-run winery.
On your last day, you are going to take a trip to Crissy Field Beach to see the amazing sunrise coming from right behind the Golden Gate Bridge. Also, with a telephoto lens, it is possible to zoom in on the little known lighthouse that hides under the southern bridge deck. Great views of this amazing city right before heading to the airport for your flight.
The Bay Area is all the activities you will look forward to all in one place while on your tour of the states. You can see the historical fun city of San Francisco from its gorgeous architecture to its great city parks to enjoying views of the famous Golden Gate Bridge. The Bay Area continues to beautiful vineyards that provide wine across the county. Also, enjoy even more gorgeous views of the beautiful landscapes of the nationals parks. This trip will be full of fun and adventure and leave you wanting more!
