After arriving and checking into your hotel, spend the day in the buzzing city. To start your adventures in travel, visit two of the most beautiful temples found here, Dalongdong Bao An Temple and Longshan Temple. Fall in love with the vibrant colors and hints of gold found in the structures along with dragon columns, stone bamboo windows, and stone lions. Then, make your way to the Lin An Tau Historical House and Museum and get a glimpse into the traditional architecture. Before heading to your hotel for the night, make sure to find a local restaurant and try the Taiwanese cuisine.
Begin the day with a yummy breakfast before spending the morning on a west coast road trip to the misty Sun Moon Lake. Once you have arrived, take a boat tour of the turquoise lake or if you want a bird’s eye view, take the ropeway which travels over two mountains. You can also visit the temples in the area like Wenwu Temple and Tse-En Pagoda or spend some time walking around the Fo Guang Shan Monastery and visit with nuns and monks.
After a good night’s rest, travel to Kaohsiung, the second largest city of Taiwan. Walk down the street next to the Love River and look at the reflection of the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas in the Lotus Lake. That afternoon, find yourself roaming the showrooms at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts and gazing at fascinating artwork by Taiwanese artists. Once the sun has gone down, stroll through the Liuhe Night Market and get lost in the wonder of it all. Before calling it a night, find a restaurant to eat beef noodles, and, if you are feeling adventurous, stinky tofu.
Continue your way down south to Kenting National Park and on your way, stop at the National Museum of Marine Biology & Aquarium. Explore their aquatic exhibits and get up close to Belugas. Afterward, continue south to the coral-edged coast. Find a hiking trail or sink your toes in the white-sand beaches. While you are here, make sure to capture the picturesque views of the ocean and enjoy the sea salt breeze.
After enjoying breakfast with an ocean view, begin your journey back north. Travel the east coast and enjoy the scenic route of charming and peaceful coastline. Spend the day driving to Hualien and take in the views of this unspoiled land while hiking through trails and snapping pics of land formations. By late afternoon, you will arrive in Hualien. After your long drive, check into your hotel and explore the city or relax for the rest of the night.
Begin your day by taking a short trip to Taroko National Park and greet Qingshui Cliff and the emerald blue salt water before Taroko Gorge. Begin your hiking with the Shakadang Trail with its clear stream of water and sedimentary rocks. Grab a drink at the shop located at the end of the hike, then cool off in the stream by soaking your feet and head over to the Eternal Spring Shrine. This gorgeous structure is the perfect place to take in all the beauty Taiwan landscapes can offer. End the day by driving back to the city of Taipei. Make sure to enjoy the nightlife before packing your suitcase for your trip home.
Before heading to the airport for your flight home, take any last-minute pictures of the city.
