Itinerary

Your educational student tour has begun as you travel to Edinburgh. As your plane descends, take a look out of your window to see Scotland’s dark blue sea and green rolling hills. A local guide will be waiting to transfer you to your city hotel. 

The afternoon is yours to explore your environment. Stroll along the city streets, take a dip in the hotel pool, or rest up with a cat nap. In the evening, you’ll meet with your group and guide for dinner — a great opportunity to get to know your guides and ask questions about your upcoming adventures

After a well-rested night, start your week in Scotland with a bang. Take a private coach up to the high mountains of Arthur’s Seat. Appreciate the country’s scenery and natural landscapes as you ride. Next, put on your helmet for a biking ride back down to sea level. Enjoy the wind in your hair as you soar. Finally, you will arrive at the beach of Port of Leith and Portobello. Eat lunch at a local restaurant, before dropping off your bikes and exploring the seaside. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot some harbor seals or whales in the distance. 

A professional in marine science will accompany you throughout the trip to learn about the marine life you encounter, as well as their interactions with the environment. Be sure to ask lots of questions to learn return home with more expertise on the ocean and its creatures.

It’s time to explore the historic city where you are currently residing! A luxury coach will pick you up for your first stop at the Royal Yacht Britannia. Enjoy a private tour of this spectacular boat that served as the Queen’s floating palace for decades. Next, you’re off to Holyrood Palace to tour the interior chambers of Mary Queen of Scots at the State Apartments. Enjoy lunch before continuing to Edinburgh Castle. Absorb breathtaking views from Castle Rock and take an interior tour inside the medieval castle before heading back to your hotel for free time.

Wake up ready to learn more about marine science as you travel to Scotland’s SEA LIFE aquarium. View venomous Scorpion Fish and Lionfish to learn how these predators protect themselves against larger fish. Next, encounter some of the ocean’s top predators, including eels, sharks, and stingrays. Learn what marine scientists are doing to protect these creatures in their natural habitats. Be sure to discover the Tropical Ocean Tunnel where you can enjoy 360-degree views of marine life. Finally, make your way to the interactive area to stroke starfish, algae, and coral.

Rise and shine, another adventure awaits! Climb into your private coach for a trip to Fort Augustus. Enjoy the spectacular scenery as you drive by many historical monuments. As you disembark on the beach of Loch Ness, enjoy a boat ride to listen for “Nessie,” aka the Loch Ness Monster, on a sonar system. Eat lunch at a shoreside restaurant before arriving at Spean Bridge Village. Discover its markets and cobblestone streets. End the day with a scenic journey over the Drumochter Summit before returning to Edinburgh.

Make your way to South Queensferry for your final full day in Scotland! Upon your arrival, set off on a three-hour cruise with the warmth of an inside lounge. Enjoy snacks and beverages as you absorb breathtaking views of the coastline of Kingdom of Fife and Edinburgh skyline. You’ll ride under three 19th-century bridges before making your way to the open ocean. Make your way to the top deck to observe a variety of marine life. You’ll likely see seabirds, puffins, porpoises, and seals. Learn about these animals’ biology and behavior from your guide. Following this, make your way back to shore for a drive to your hotel.
