Itinerary
Guatemala Antigua comes from the volcanic valley of Antigua, one of many coffee growing regions in Guatemala. The three volcanoes in the region create a valley that has the perfect coffee-growing conditions, which coffee farmers gladly utilize. With an elevation of around 4,000-6,000 feet above sea level, the valley of Antigua creates one of the finest coffee beans in South America.
Start your day with an early breakfast. Today, you will visit three different towns around Lake Atitlan! San Juan, San Pedro, and Santiago. You will take a boat, walk, and explore the history of each town.
Acatenango is a stratovolcano in Guatemala, close to the city of Antigua. The volcano has two peaks, Pico Mayor (Highest Peak) and Yepocapa (3,880 m) which is also known as Tres Hermanas (Three Sisters). Acatenango is joined with Volcán de Fuego and collectively the volcano complex is known as La Horqueta. Today, you will hike the volcano and set up tent for the night as you embark on the journey to get the best views of the volcano!
