Itinerary

Your adventure has begun as you global travel to Shanghai. As your plane descends, look out your window to see mountainous and forest terrain, as well as its cityscapes. A local guide will be waiting to greet you at the airport and transfer you to a local hotel. 

The afternoon is yours to explore. Take a dip in the hotel infinity pool, walk along the city streets, or discover a nearby nature path. In the evening, you’ll meet with your group and guides for authentic Chinese cuisine — an excellent opportunity to ask questions about your upcoming schedule!

After a well-rested night, it’s time to tour one of China’s wealthiest cities. Start at the Confucius Temple to admire complex architectures before arriving at the historic Yuyuan Gardens. Soak up the tranquility and calmness of the gardens amidst the busy surrounding city. Take a lunch break to enjoy dumpling soup at a local restaurant. Next, explore the shops and markets in Old Street. Can you find the perfect souvenir? Finally, you’ll ride to the top of the Shanghai Tower for panoramic views of the incredible city.

Wake up bright and early to learn about the sport of ping pong. Ping pong, or table tennis is one of the most popular sports in Asia, and China has dominated its competitions internationally. As you arrive at the Shanghai Table Tennis Association, you’ll meet with professional coaches. Learn how to property hit the lightweight ball to throw off your competitor. Next, it’s time for a friendly ping pong competition. Will you be the last player standing? 

After lunch, you’re off to explore the spectacular water town of Zhujiajiao. Walk over old bridges, dip your feet into bubbling streams, and admire the old architecture. Wander around the canal, old lanes, and houses. Next, you’ll enjoy a boat ride down the canal. Relax and soak in the beautiful surrounding area. Make sure to take lots of pictures! In the evening, you will be taken via bullet train to Beijing for the night

Today you will experience one of the most famous tourist attractions in the world, the Great Wall of China! You’ll arrive at the ancient Mutianyu area of the wall to climb the Ming Dynasty watchtowers. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding scenery. You have a choice to descend the hill by cable car or a toboggan ride. Take a break for lunch at a restaurant in a local village. Explore the area before heading back to the hotel.

Take a break from the city as you arrive at Longqingxia Gorge, which is situated in between green mountain peaks. Enjoy the peaceful scenery of woodland, karst caves, and curious stones. Enjoy a cruise down the ravine. Breathe in the fresh air and view passing caves and temples. You will reach a farmer’s house to enjoy a home-made meal. Continue cruising until you reach the Guyaju caves, which is a village complex that dwells in natural and carved rock. Explore the surroundings before heading back to your hotel. In the evening, make your way to Beijing Academy Athlete Club to watch China’s men’s national table tennis team play. Look in awe as the athletes swing their arms at lightning speeds to combat the moves of their competitors!

Spend your last day in China’s famous Forbidden City. Explore the majesty of the Chinese palace and learn how the building is significant for both politics and ceremonies. Delve into the art exhibits to view paintings from the Ming Dynasty. Next, you’ll travel to a local restaurant for an authentic Chinese lunch before arriving at the Temple of Heaven. This attraction has the largest number of sacrificial buildings in the country. Stroll through the prayer halls and take a lesson on tai chi taught by locals. What a fabulous way to end an unforgettable trip!

It has been an adventurous and educational week, but it’s time to head home. Enjoy one final breakfast with your group and guide. Discuss your favorite memories and what you learned. Next, you’ll head to the local airport to catch your departure flight.
