Insurance
Travel insurance is probably the most important purchase you will make before your trip.
We highly recommend every international traveler purchase travel insurance to provide you with care and coverage if you experience any disruptions while traveling abroad.
Trip cancelations, flight delays, severe weather, lost baggage… These are all reasons to invest in travel insurance for your upcoming trip with Worldwide Navigators. Travel insurance may be purchased through many third-party providers and reputable companies are just a Google search away.
Medical Evacuation (Medevac) Insurance
WWN also recommends travelers obtain medical evacuation insurance. Most of the trips we host involve traveling to areas off the beaten path where medical facilities may be limited. It is very rare case that one of our travelers must be evacuated to the U.S. or appropriate medical facility, which may be in a neighboring country. (The U.S. Embassy maintains a list of physicians and other healthcare professionals who may see U.S. citizen patients when traveling outside the U.S. However, the Embassy does not guarantee their services or recommend any of the physicians.)
But the cost incurred for this emergency service can be enormous. Protect yourself by having insurance that will cover the costs and make the arrangements to medically evacuate you if needed. We suggest a minimum of $500,000 medical evacuation coverage, which you can find on the Internet.
