Itinerary

Upon arrival, your group will board a ferry to take you to the island of Leyte! Once you arrive on Leyte, it is about a 1.5 hour drive to get to your home for the week, where dinner and the team from International Medical Relief will be waiting for your arrival.

Wake up to breakfast and all gather for your team orientation in the afternoon! Your team leader will assign your roles for clinic, go over our clinic protocols, and discuss the communities you will be serving in the Philippines.

After orientation, you will be free to go into the city to explore. After an evening of touring Palompon, go back to your accommodation for dinner.

Toggle ContentEach day, you will have breakfast at your accommodation and then drive out to the remote communities. The IMR team will provide acute medical and dental care to many families while your group aids in teaching them how to stay healthy in their environment. Classes will include basic hygiene, first aid, water purification and storage, CPR and choking prevention, and sanitation, plus additional classes on sustainable good health. You will also have some opportunities to hike to house calls in the remote areas around the barangays. After clinic, return to your accommodation for a team debrief and dinner!

You and the team will have breakfast and host a morning clinic! After your group will hop on the bus and transfer to the port for your ferry back to Cebu!

Once you arrive back in Cebu, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the evening to relax and explore.

Wake up early to pack your day bag and drive to the port where you will hop on your boat for the day! Snorkel and soak up the sun on this full-day, immersive whale shark watch excursion. In the evening, head back to your accommodations for a final group dinner.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel then bid farewell to the beautiful Philippines as you head to the airport for your international flight home. Consider extending your stay for more adventures in the Philippines!

We are excited to return to Leyte — one of the most beautiful islands in the chain of 7,107 islands that make up the Philippines with our partner International Medical Relief. We have received a special invitation from the government of the Republic of the Philippines to travel to the barangay (remote villages) on the island of Leyte.

Your group will provide acute medical and dental care to many families while teaching them how to stay healthy in their environment. Classes will include basic hygiene, first aid, water purification and storage, CPR and choking prevention, and sanitation, plus additional classes on sustainable good health.
