Itinerary

Upon arrival in Arusha, your group will transfer to your hotel and enjoy a group welcome dinner.

Wake up to breakfast provided to you at the hotel and attend the required team orientation to further prepare you for clinic! Your team leader will assign your roles for clinic, go over our clinic protocols, and discuss the communities you will be serving in Tanzania.

After orientation, you will be free to go into the city to explore. Be sure to get a good night’s rest as you prepare for your first day of clinic the following day!

Wake up each day and have breakfast at your accommodation. At your clinic sites in Tanzania, you can expect a crowd of patients each day, all needing care they can not obtain elsewhere. Lower respiratory infections, diarrheal diseases, malaria, STDs, and sepsis are all part of the top 10 causes of death in Tanzania. Patients with chronic illnesses such as HIV, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes will receive education from you and your team to help prevent or stop the worsening of these destructive illnesses.

After an arduous clinic schedule, the team will see some of the world’s most amazing animals on your exclusive one-day safari. On your safari you will witness the harmony of numerous species of wildlife rarely found in any large quantity anywhere but Tanzania.

After lunch, we will drive to Touba and tour the Grand Mosque.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel then bid farewell to beautiful Tanzania as you head to the airport for your international flight home.

Karibu Tanzania!

Tanzania, a land of spectacular beauty, is one of the largest countries of Africa. In partnership with International Medical Relief, your group will host clinic in the small villages surrounding Arusha, at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. You can expect a crowd of patients each day, all needing care they can not obtain elsewhere.

The area is home to many Maasai people. Arusha, with 1.5 million people in the city itself, has extremely high unemployment and many overcrowded slums. Arusha consists mostly of slum dwellings, wooden or earthen shacks with neither running water nor electricity. The area around Esso Road is among the fastest-growing slums in east Africa. Your care for these people will make a true difference in their lives.
