Itinerary

Upon arrival at the Colombo Airport you will travel to Kandy, the second largest city in Sri Lanka. On the way, you will visit the world’s largest elephants orphanage, Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. It is home to three generations of elephants. You’ll spend your first night in Kandy.

Start your day with a tour of the city’s most famous attractions, including Upper Lake Drive, and the Market Square. You will also visit the 67-acre Royal Botanical Gardens, where you can discover some of the most exotic species of botanical delights.

We’ll be sure to visit the Sacred Tooth Relic, a renowned Buddhist temple. It is believed that Buddha’s Tooth relic was smuggled to the island by Princess Hemamali and her husband. It is understood that whoever wholes the relic rules over the country. Overnight in Kandy.

Depart from the big city and journey towards the “City of Light”, Nuwara Eliya. This picturesque and pristine mountain city sits at 6,100ft. En route, you will visit a beautiful tea plantation.

After lunch you will visit Seethaeliya, where Hindu mythology believes that Goddess Seetha was held hostage by Ravana. Overnight stay is in Nuwara Eliya.

Continue on your adventure to the Yala National Park, the second largest National Park in the country. Here you will discover rare and exotic species of flora and fauna including more than 200 species of birds, wild buffaloes, and elephants. Overnight will be spent in Yala.

While en route to your next destination, make a brief stop in the city of Galle to visit the city’s natural harbor. Stroll through old town and notice the Portuguese influence, who ruled over the city in the 16th century. Observe the intricate work of traditional lace makers and carvers. Support the local economy by purchasing souvenirs made from beautiful shells.

Continue on to arrive in Bentota, a lovely coastal town famous for Ayurveda and toddy production. With beautiful beaches, this city is a popular destination for water sports and whale watching. Overnight stay will be in Bentota.

Return once again to the harbor city Colombo. Today you’ll visit the gems of the city. Cinnamon Gardens provides sanctuary from the busy city and is rich with history. Walk through the Fort – the administration and military center for the British. Visit the beautiful stone carvings on the historic Dawatagha Mosque, a Hindu Temple. Recognizable from a distance, Wolvendaal Church is a beautifully preserved Dutch church that dates back to 1749. End your day with the replica of the Avukana Buddha and Independence Square, which are must-see attractions. Overnight in Colombo.

Enjoy a light breakfast, finish some last minute shopping and hug your new friends as you prepare to head back to the airport for your departure home.
