Itinerary

After arriving in Nicaragua’s capital, spend the day getting a glimpse of the city known for its humble people and rich history. After checking into your hotel and getting settled, venture to the Norte Centro Historico and take a short walking tour of Managua’s historical center. Start at the Plaza de la Revolución, the site of countless protests and parades. Just a few steps away, snap some artsy photos of the neoclassical facade of Managua’s Antigua Cathedral, a beautiful old cathedral left empty after almost being destroyed by an earthquake in 1972. End your tour with a short walk to the Museo Nacional to learn more of Nicaragua’s colorful and exciting history before heading back to your hotel for the night.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then make your way to the airport and board a short flight to Big Corn Island. Sprinkled with colorful wooden houses, Big Corn is lush, rustic and still mostly unsettled, with beaches perfect for lazy days and peaceful, serene nights. Pick a beach and take an afternoon siesta and swim in absolute tranquility. Once you’ve had enough sun and sand for one day, grab dinner in one of Big Corn’s surprisingly plentiful restaurants before heading back to your hotel for the night.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and venture out for another relaxing day on Big Corn Island. Grab your snorkeling gear and head underwater or stretch out on a blanket and perfect your tan on a golden sand beach. At lunchtime, wander into a barefoot bar and order up some fresh Caribbean lobster, a Corn Islands staple and their number one industry. At the end of the day, sit in awe as you watch the sun dip into the tranquil Caribbean Sea.

After checkout, take a panga (small boat) to the jewel of the Caribbean, Little Corn Island. Yet undiscovered by most, Little Corn will charm you with its old-world feel and laid back Caribbean vibes. A strict no-car zone, Little Corn is a pedestrian paradise, with endless beaches and neighborhood trails lined with fresh fruit trees. Meander along virgin shorelines, explore golden coves and get to know the charismatic locals that make Little Corn their home.

Spend one more blissful day soaking up the sun and charm of Little Corn Island. Pick fresh juicy mangoes and indulge in some scratch-baked coconut bread from a local bakery. Explore the island in search of the perfect lookout point, or just choose a beach, grab a drink and let life’s stresses continue to melt away while you bask in the Caribbean sun. No matter what you choose to do, you won’t want to leave Little Corn any time soon!

Say goodbye to the dreamy Corn Islands with a panga ride and connecting flight to Managua where you’ll board your flight home.
