Itinerary

Your journey begins in Alice Springs as we venture south. Stop along the way for a camel ride through the desert. Visit Mount Ebenezer Roadhouse to view a cornucopia of aboriginal artifacts. As we enter Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, the rich stories of the Anagu’s people begin.

End your day discovering the flora and fauna native to this desert area. Experience your first Uluru sunset and marvel at the brilliant changing colors.

Rise early to catch a glimpse of the equally magical sunrise. We’ll start our day with a hike through the magnificent “Valley of the Winds”. Continue to discover the history as you hike along.

We’ll head for a traditional lunch at Kings Creek Station and spend our second night camping here.

Visit the deep crevices, towering walls, and plateaus of Watarrka today. We’ll head to the mystical Lost City and the tranquil “Garden of Eden”. Don’t worry, the day is still full of adventure as we romp in 4WD along the famous Mereenie Loop Road.

Keep an eye out for wild game as we make our way to camp for the night in Glen Helen. A stunning nearby waterhole is believed to be the home of an ancient and powerful Rainbow Serpent.

Today will be devoted to exploring the mighty West MacDonnell Range. While traveling to the Ormiston Gorge, watch Perentie lizards lazing along the banks enjoy a swim in the rock holes. Hike up the “Ghost Gum Walk” for a majestic view of the Ormiston Gorge.

Head on for an internationally sought out geological site- the Ellery Creek Big Hole, one of the most picturesque walking and swimming spots in the West MacDonnell Ranges. Tonight, enjoy another sunset in the gorgeous desert sky.

After fueling up on breakfast we’ll head for the Oak Valley Aboriginal Community. You’ll find ancient rock paintings and carvings and hear legends from ancestors of these aboriginal people. Gain a deeper understanding of how precious and pristine this remote environment is. And of course, It’s not a trip to the land down under if you don’t try your hand at Boomerang throwing.

We’ll make our way back to Alice Springs where our journey began. Grab a snack and head to the airport for your departure home.
